Morning you lot.
I appear to have a horrible throaty thing. Pray for amipal.
Gave the Mordheim game a try last night - a sort of XCOM take on the classic GW game. There are many, many tutorials... seems alright from the first couple I've run through. Saying that, there are action and strategy points for each unit per turn. I must be blind, because I can't see any graphical representation on screen.

Morning!
Games: Gran Turismo last night, so stand by for a wall of text: I crashed a lot and the fucking game won't let me do a race until I've 'learned to drive' or some shit like that.
Other: someone I don't know very well died last night. Overnight I dreamed that they had died. Last night I was reading a novel about a man who can foresee deaths. Pretty meta.

"NASA postpones mission to the sun"
Presumably they've decided to go at night when it's cooler.

Morning all, took dog to the vets this morning. £60+ to be told she needs some bran flakes in her food, and maybe a flea treatment. Oh, and she could lose some weight. What a lovely start to the morning.

My hip hurts. I am old. Get off my lawn. Just the man, I've got Dark Souls the board game from kick starter and they have some nice figures which just need to be painted, complete noob apart from Airfix models when I was younger, what's you opinion on Army Painter? What other essential/nice kit would you recommend? I've always followed a few war dolly channels but only now have the desire to paint some of the things

My goodies from Cex arrived at 10.35 am. Sealed original packaging, still had the original security seal from whatever shop they were originally stolen* from. Not bad for something I only ordered at 1pm yesterday.
*I'm assuming this is the case because, well, Cex. Also, who buys a pair of expensive headphones, doesn't try them and then sells them to Cex?

Hello. Breakfast was porridge with strawberries & banana through it. Boodiful.
Then up to Mrs Cranks folks to install a nest home security camera thing which *should* have been an easy job. Anyway done now after taking apart their WiFi solution and putting it back together again.
Mrs Crank and child now away swimming. I'm going to prep tonight's risotto and shove on the ps4 for an hour.

I've always followed a few war dolly channels but only now have the desire to paint some of the things Welcome, soon you will have a pile of unpainted minis the likes of which will shame you eternally. Army painter is ok, a bit inconsistent in terms of mixture and can take some shaking to get them useable. I'd recommend Vallejo over Army Painter. That box set, while comprehensive, is probably overkill. Army Painter brushes however are fantastic, I use their character brushes for almost everything. Primer is a must, as it allows the paint to properly adhere. I use the grey primer from Wilkos, but some people swear by Halfords primer. You'll also need Matt varnish, I use a spray one but brush on one is also acceptable. You'll need a sharp craft knife to take off any mould lines and some files. Don't be fooled into buying these from places like Hobbycraft, you can get cheap and decent ones from Aldi or Lidl in their middle bins section (along with a Japanese wetsuit). The fact is that hobby places have a huge mark up, especially on equipment, and it can often be found much cheaper elsewhere. There are loads of excellent tutorials on youtube. The main thing is that intially, you might not be very good at it, but don't be discouraged. I've been doing this for 30 years, and I'm still learning every day*, so keep at it. Patience and practice are your friends. Good luck and enjoy it, it's a very satisfying hobby. * Cliche-ometer overload, shutting down

Fuck's sake. Inside Music at 1pm today on R3 was presented by Eimear Noone who composed some of the World of Warcraft music, which she played some of about 40 minutes in. It was ok. The movements from Mozart's Requiem and Beethoven's 7th Symphony were considerably better. Four stars. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0bf1gd1#playAlso, Eimear Noone has a lovely Irish accent and a voice to fall in love with. I was going to go out for a swim, but instead I think I'll stay at home and sob hopelessly.

Cheers very much, "overkill" should be my middle name, I've been watching videos all day, in between cooking, and as to the shaking thing someone suggested putting 8mm glass beads in the paint to help things along, the box also has the advantage of taking away any decisions as to what colours to buy I can do patience as shown by my love of JRPGS I have various thing on my wishlist and will now spend the next few hours agonising over whether to move them into the checkout basket. Again thanks

Again thanks NP I've seen the bead thing as well, don't use it myself but I can see why you would. I've been thinking about getting a vortex mixer as that would do the same thing without having to piss about with beads. You need anything else just let me know, always happy to help with war dollies.
