Good afternoon all,
Quiet in here today after yesterday's 6 page whopper. Are we all chattered out?
Games: since I'm away for work, Im bashing out some dragon quest builders. 4 stars. Not entirely sure if I like it or not, but it's accessible. Need to get back into BOTW but bugger me is it difficult to get enthused by now. I've played for 35 hours and feel like I'm nowhere
TV: limited options in the hotel, so E4, watched a cracking don't tell the bride, the guy did a titanic themed wedding and bought the bridesmaids dresses 4 for £95 on Amazon. She still married him.

Cat owners in Croydon joining the Countryside Alliance. That absolutely has to be bullshit. I refuse to believe after three fucking years of investigating the answer is "just some lorries and foxes innit". It probably is, but are we seriously saying that they investigated it FOR 3 YEARS before coming to this conclusion!? This country, seriously.

This morning I have been mostly reading Sockpuppet's Xmas message starting from 25.12.2012 @ 25:56 p.m. in the 'other place'. Are these the ones where he was being creepy about his brothers wife? Textbook. Still ward for me, destrys link still has me in stitches. It moves from anger at some man to what the fuck is going on so quickly. Honourable mention to those 2 blokes who work in the same office and whatever you people did to Simian.

Do you mean Warframe? Still no though, never played it. I'm waiting for it to come to switch and then go balls deep. It's supposed to be like a good destiny? But I hear the grind is off the charts

This looks like it couldn't be further removed from the games I play. Last night, in Shenmue, I took an old mirror to an antiques shops to have it appraised. That was quite enough excitement for me, thank you very much.

Need to get back into BOTW but bugger me is it difficult to get enthused by now. I've played for 35 hours and feel like I'm nowhere. It's such a large game that it can easily get intimidating. I've told you that I've got 470 hours for that game on the clock, and I'm still planning to go back in sometimes and mop up some stuff - for example, I haven't achieved a 100% completion of the map yet (a large part of that are Korok seeds, though). The way I handled the game was to treat it as a hiking holiday in Hyrule. I would just walk and take in new sights, except for rare occasions when I used the hang glider to get to a specific location or when I ran after a falling star. However, one of the first objectives I set myself (apart from finding shrines and reaching the divine beasts and Hyrule Castle, obviously) was to activate all towers and thus fill in the map, because I absolute hate not being able to see on a map where I'm going. After visiting Purah in the Hateno Ancient Tech lab towards the beginning of the game I put all my efforts into reaching Robbie in Akkala (this is entirely optional but very useful). Since it's not possible to get to Akkala without doing the Divine Beast in Zora's Domain I was naturally making a lot of progress. My advice to anyone is to simply keep on enjoying having adventures in the game and not worry too much about progression. One of my favourite YouTubers was streaming his first hours in BOTW and got very quickly extremely frustrated with it because he was too impatient and rushing things. It was hard to watch, and I had a long exchange with him for some time afterwards as he was trying to find his feet, but for him it never really clicked, or rather he developed a kind of love-hate relationship. He's got a good sense of humour, though, so he's going to put himself through a 24 hour marathon of BOTW for charity soon. tl;dr: Tent Hen❤️BOTW

Warfare is your standard issue FPS fodder. I'm just wondering as it's free it may do well nowadays. It's bops-tastic I'll give you that.

What's the best DS flavour of Zelda? Never played a zelda game and thinking about shoving on the emulator.

What's the best DS flavour of Zelda? Never played a zelda game and thinking about shoving on the emulator. Ehhh, DS Zeldas are far from the best Zelda flavour. I've played Phantom Hourglass and gave up on the last phase of the last boss battle because it controls with a fucking stylus and playing it gives me cramps in my hand. There are plenty of parts that are nice enough, but it's notorious for the Temple of the Ocean King which you have to backtrack through several times. It also drove me wild with the lottery on the golden ship parts because I couldn't get the final piece for ages and ages (I got reallly, reaaalllly good at the mini games where you can win them, though). I've bought it again on the Wii U Virtual Console in the hope that the controls might be better. One day I might play it again. The second one is Spirit Tracks. I own it, haven't played after my experience with PH. Supposedly the problems that Phantom Hourglass had got fixed in that one, but it's still a far cry from other Zelda experiences. If you can emulate Game Boy (original or Advance) games then you are much better off with Link's Awakening or the Oracle games (Oracle of Ages & Oracle of Seasons). Minish Cap is supposed to be good, too, haven't played it yet.

What's the best DS flavour of Zelda? Never played a zelda game and thinking about shoving on the emulator. Start from the beginning! Most of them are great, but the highlights usually stated are Legend of Zelda, Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time. Edit: I realise you specify DS, but given Nintendo generally release every version on every console, I think I'm still safe with my suggestions.

That was a hell of a reply, I did enjoy the pure wandering around but it's beginning to get a bit tiresome for me now, I wander around don't see anything, don't get anywhere and it takes bloody ages. The one thing I've bounced off completely is the Korok seeds, I just do not notice where the fuckers are hiding 99% of the time. Not sure if I've got to Robbie yet so I'll do that. I downloaded a guide so I might use that for a while to achieve something , I'll then undoubtedly get sucked into it again. It's just a slight funk.
