However, the most depressed I've ever been was watching a Morecambe & Wise Christmas special with my parents. I didn't see the end, I went off to do the decent thing. I failed as usual. |

So this festival is full of nerdy types in t-shirts nodding along to Adrian Sherwood. It's alright but the problem with Sheffield these days is the really crazy artists aren't allowed on until 4am whereas in Manchester they can do a mid afternoon slot in a warehouse.

Spag Bol for dinner, and because I possess mild culinary competence I didn't burn the spaghetti. Bottle of Nero d'Avola with it. Said bottle had a screw top. Said screw top wouldn't open. Reduced to hacking away at the metal with a knife for fifteen minutes. Finally managed to open the @!*# thing. Never have I enjoyed a glass of wine more. I worked hard for this! My hands are red and throbbing.*

What are those? Is that something else you need after you've punted 20 sheets on the record? A 'needle' in old money. Houses the needle. Certainly the Concorde ones folk use for dj'n are £140 a pair these days. Did you get a deck that's part of a.proper hi-fi setup? Im very jealous. I don't have records any more. When I moved in with Mrs Crank I gave away the good stuff to pals who DJ and binned the landfill indie. Kinda wish I'd kept all the classic house and hip hop. Hey ho. There is some stuff from my mum's in my wardrobe I need to get on discogs as it's worth a wee bit of money. I spent half of yesterday acquainting myself with discogs. Found a couple of highly innocuous albums from the 90s that i think i own, in the family garage, selling for north of 100 quid. Incredible. |

I think I may have said before, but I was chatting to the bloke who owns a record shop near me a while ago, and he said apparently something like 40% of people who buy and collect vinyl don't have any means of actually playing it.
