Has the smell gone now?

At a loose end in Sociopath Troublemaker. Done some side quests and taken note of others, but before I take on Ophilia's final chapter boss for the third time I'd like her to have enough job points to unlock the (very powerful) divine skill for her second job, but I'm in a bad corner of the map for that. I might just do a round trip and see what else I can find. I'm keen to tackle the job upgrade dungeons now, but first I need to find them. Mm.

Tenthen, as the resident Nintendo expert, and the fact you're the only one here, may I ask your opinion please.

Both 8 yr old and 10 yr old mini Tuffers, have agreed they would like a switch for xmas. I had ZERO influence in this decision.

I'm therefore going to likely purchase on black Friday. Although I'm not sure they'll be much saving to be had. Are there different models/versions? Like there was with ps4?

And the main question, which colour is best?

My nephew has one, it does look good in action, can't say I can tell much difference between it and my Pro. But then it does have advantages, just not maybe in games at the moment.

They have friends who have one, a switch, and splatoon, Mario, is what they like. Oh, and fucking Fortnite. At the very least I'll get my ps4 back into full ownership.

It's like this. Technically there's only one kind, although there's been rumours of different models in the future, none of which have had any substance to them so far. The only difference is cosmetic, i.e. the colour of the two controllers that snap onto the side of the tablet. Two base models, the boring/distinguished kind with two grey controllers and the funky/silly one with a neon red and blue one, both at the same price. You are probably the best person to know what colours mini-Tuffers would prefer. More controllers in different colours are available at a price. There's no end to the amount of plastic doodahs moneys can buy.

There are all sorts of bundles available with all sorts of games, hopefully some super-duper deal for Black Friday. There's a weird Fortnite bundle, weird because the game is obviously free to play, not sure whether it includes any kind of pass or whether it's a con. Otherwise the hot ticket atm are the "special editions" of Pokémon and Smash Bros respectively. The Pokémon special ed. has Pikachu- and Eevee-coloured controllers and -themed dock as well as a Pokéball controller, while the Smash Bros. one has the logo and a (wired) GameCube controller for the hardcore Smasher. Again, you might want to canvas the mini-Tuffers on preferences, but I don't think there's a Black Friday deal to be had on those.

Hidden expenses: since the console itself has only 32 GB it's worth looking for any spare micro SD cards you might have lying around. You'll also have to pay extra for online, although it's quite cheap and you get a bunch of NES games thrown in.

Tenthen has basically answered all your questions though. Lots of different coloured joycons and some game specific themed consoles, usually more expensive for little return.

I'm guessing since your kids have access to Fortnite on PS4 there's a reason why they're looking at the switch now (starlink is also on ps4- but switch has Starfox exclusive, not sure what appeal that had to kids that young as fox has been shite for years).

As tenthen said the two big releases are Pokémon let's go and smash Bros and are the ones most likely to be at the top of their wish lists.

Also if you wanted to get in on the action mario kart/ mario party would make for some good Christmas Day fun
