It's more efficient to buy a new TV than an HDMI switch. That would involve subterfuge and possibly an "accident" to our current TV. Mrs Crank wouldn't have a TV bigger than what we have - an old 32 1080p with huge bezels. A 40" 4k would be as big as I'd get away with as it's about what we've got. There aren't many 40 4k's on the market. Most have two HDMI inputs. Some have 3 like our current TV. |

Unless you are sat really close there is not a lot of difference between 1080p and 2160p (4k). Even on a large screen.
At 40" 4k is not worth paying for.
Sky HD is fine on a 65" screen. SD is mostly ok. Depending on the channel. Some look poor.
DVDs are fine. So long as what you are watching is good you don't notice the less detailed picture.
Amazon is good in 4k, but the difference between that and HD is minimal.
I love the big screen tho. Wouldn't go back to a smaller one.
HDR is supposed to be good, but there really is very little properly HDR enabled stuff.

The bigger the telly the more worthwhile it is to go 4K. Quite a lot of Netflix's stuff is output to 4K, I say go for it especially if the prices continue to come down.
