Hello.
A meeting this morning and giving training this afternoon. It's the last payday of the year. Who wants a drink?
TV. Penultimate epiosode of Big little lies. S1 anyway. There is I believe an S2 so I dunno if they've taken the book over two series. Hate when they do that and don't need to.
Games. Not really. Got an 8bitdo controller working with my phone - but it's too small for even my childlike hands. They do bigger ones but kinda defeats the purpose. Probably going back.

No time for games, but watched some more House of Cards, which is terrible and I just want it to be over now (like Brexit).
It's also dawned on me that I will need to spend about half a day wrapping presents this year.
In other exciting morning news a homeless scally completely off his head got on my bus this morning and demanded to taken to Doncaster. Took about 10 minutes before he left and I just caught my train.

The Tories already had a vote on their leader in June 2016. Surely they just have to stick with that democratic decision and anything else is a perversion of democracy?
This is miserable. Should I really be hoping for May to win a Tory vote of no confidence? Preferably 52% to 48% so everyone can be certain she has an unquestionable mandate.
Calling it now, hard Brexit and worse chaos by April than even the most extreme predictions of project fear. Shortages of medical and food supplies, and massive transport problems. Stock markets and currency collapses. Massive inflation and unemployment. NHS and other public services effectively collapse. At least one serious accident at a nuclear plant. UK breaks up within 24 months. Far right government elected within 36 months (actual far-right, not just Tory far right). Majority of the population of the United Kingdom of England and Wales barely notices apart from grumbles about food shortages, as they're all too busy watching Strictly and Bake Off, or playing RDR2 and snottily complaining about people watching crap TV.
If anyone wants me, I'll be in the Worry Tent, checking the supplies of Kool Aid.

Save me a cup. The only hope I have is the EU want a oil/gas producing small country joining.
Though we should be thinking more about selling water. Do you know is how much it rains here?

Edit, oh, and Good Morning to everyone. I hope you are all well, and excited about the joys of Christmas.

Thanks, shenguin. You've really cheered me up.
Can't the Queen do something about this? Step into Parliament, grab the mace, tell the assembled MPs what a shower they are, mace-drop, back to the palace for tea.

Couldn't Flash Gordon sort it all out? I mean, didn't he save the universe not so long ago?

I'm past being surprised by just how fucked our country is now. I gave up any hope of things getting better far too long ago. Imo it's better to just not give any fucks any more and revel in the small victories, like the 15 Singapore dollars in my wallet gaining more value every day. I dare say they'll be worth more than my pension by May.
Anyway, morning!
Played some Mortal Kombat last night. It's ok. Story mode takes itself a little too serious and slow characters are the pits. Sub Zero and the bug woman are awesome, though. All the combos! Also found some MMO Pokemon thing (coincidental against today's blog pic) which wasted an hour or so, plays just like the games. Actually surprised it hasn't been shut down by Nintendo yet.
TV wise, watched the second episode of Ash vs Evil Dead. Punching old women always elicits a giggle*.
*Just to clarify, this is separate to the TV show.

Couldn't Flash Gordon sort it all out? I mean, didn't he save the universe not so long ago? That is a bullshit idea Mr Tiddles. All he does these days is snort coke with teddy bears. I've watched a documentary on the subject.

I think it's high time that we just admit that humanity has definitively and totally spooned it, and put Skynet in charge. You can get internet-enabled toasters now, one of those could be the new Brexit secretary. At least it's a more plausible scenario than Esther McVey for PM.

Final salary pension bragging coming in 3...2.... Public sector final salary and salary-linked pensions are effectively paid for and backed by the government. They won't be worth shit after the economic collapse if the government defaults on them as it can't pay. I've got one; I'm not holding out hope that it somehow means in thirtyish years I get to retire to a magic oasis of middle-class comfort after the economic and environmental collapse cause the basic collapse of our entire society.
