Monday my wonky airbed was replaced; froze arse off as the replacement got stuck in the doorway, standing for 4 hrs. Morphine for the pain
Tuesday: Ready for ambulance at 8.30 am. Time of pick up passed; no ambulance... Driver ill, ambulance went back to depot - replacement driver found, ambulance broke down. Different crew/vehicle sent - 5 hrs late... more fucking morphine. Instead of my 10.30 am appt, tacked onto the END of the afternoon schedule - yet more fucking morphine. Waiting for ambulance... get home 6.30 pm...
Thursday More morphine. ambulance for a totally pointless appointment turns up early... get to hospital at 11.30 am instead of 1.30 pm... 15 minutes answering the same questions I've answered 7 - yes, SEVEN times before, which I could have done at home and posted... finished at 12.30 pm... morphine wwears off.. ambulance can't be rescheduled and is late.. home at 5.30 pm. The forms are simply to cover their arses... there is no clinical reason they couldn't be done on the same day as the operation.
Friday: Regular crucifixion from Nursey... yet more morphine ... Nursey leaves me a suppository ... What the NHS has welded together will now be split asunder; the side effects of morphine are evil, which is why I put up with the pain as much as possible. Merry fucking Xmas
