Working from home today and got to watch the sun rise out of the office window. Still sadly no games, hopefully tonight I will get to play again. Watched some more Ash vs the Evil Dead which was alright.
Good luck with the interview Wolfy, remember the usual protocol, punch the largest guy/lady in the room etc...

There’s a lot of drones on this Chatterbox.
Octopath Traveller- I’m now (nearly)finished chapter two for four of the eight characters - just have Olberic final battle. Already having to grind a bit between fights, but I’m loving it! The story takes some dark turns at times, prostitution, human trafficking and blood sacrifices- so far!

Morning! Took delivery of my new graphics card last night so, obviously, it had to be 'tested'. By which I mean installed in my old system until I make my new one. Lords of the Fallen, 2k resolution, everything on Ultra, minimum of 100 fps. Smooth as you like. Similar story on Overwatch, but that isn't as graphically intensive. Lovely bit of kit. For those interested, I played intelligently and went for the 1080 ti. Waiting to see how much ray tracing is actually adopted (and for prices to settle) before considering the 2080 ti. This one:   |

What's up nerds?
Today is my last day until the third. I finish up early then it's off to the staff meal, with free bar, to begin the annual battle to avoid getting dragged up to Dunfermline for a night out. It's Dunfermline. On a Thursday. It couldn't be any more grim.
No games last night, but I did spend a sizable part of Japanese class convincing a guy to play Chrono Trigger and I'm starting to get in the mood for another play through myself.

That's the radiator and cooling fan. I'm too chicken shit to go full liquid cooling* so just going half way with an aio for both the GPU and CPU. *I was told a long time ago, by someone much smarter and more experienced than me, that if you can't afford to replace everything in case of a bad leak, it's best not to try liquid cooling. |

For things like shooters I don't think graphics make all that much difference, as you're generally sprinting through it all. For RPGs, though, where you're spending more time meandering to your next quest etc. they matter more, to me at least. Playing TW3 in 4k* was awesome, even if the frame rate wasn't too great (might be time to revisit this actually . . .). Basically, it's all down to personal preference. Watch some comparison videos (on a 4k TV, obviously, as it won't make a blind bit of difference watching through a 1080p monitor) and make your own mind up is the only good advice I can give. *I have a 4k monitor but it's capped at 60 hz ('cos I don't have a spare £2k for 144hz . . .), bought the 2k monitor for the fps. |
