I tried to get that as my phone background /saver/wallpaper. I'd had all the beers admittedly, but the best I managed was a close up, non moving, cheek.

Morning Canada, morning everyone else.
I'm about to listen to another episode of the recent R4 adaptation of The Prisoner. It's been pretty good so far.
I'm other news, it turns out spending an hour reading the Guardian first thing in the morning is pretty gosh darn depressing.

Ticks spread deadly allergies to meat. Toolio is a vegan. Coincidence? I think not.

Morning boxers,
Mrs Crank & child are off to Mrs C's folks. Shall make the most of that later.
For now I'm off to see my mum's partner and my pal/gf. Getting a loan of Mario Kart from the pals gf.
One train an hour on a Sunday to home. Bit shite but shall cope I'm sure.
A mooch round a couple of shops in Glasgow first for coffee & chocs. I'm sure it will be quiet...

Morning all. Much to my surprise I find myself agreeing with Shenguin. Although I get depressed and angry reading the news. So I tend not to. A good few years ago my youngest son asked me why I watched the news and I replied with the usual guff about it being important to keep abreast of current events blah blah blah. He then said "But you just shout at the television". So in the spirit of xmas here is my top 5 of things that depress/annoy me in no particular order: - Brexit
- The need for food banks
- Food banks in schools ffs
- Zero hours contracts
- The implementation of universal credit
- Shenguin (not really, but I couldn't resist the open goal. And I know that's 6)
Have a cool yule y'all.

My pal isn't on a zero hrs contact.
He gets 16hrs in Tesco and usually hopefully some overtime every week. He's been offered a Mon/Tue in addition for Jan/Feb and they'll see if they can continue to give him it after that - hrs available in shop etc.
He's been asked to go in on Monday - Xmas Eve - when he should be spending time with his son. He's seperated.
He usually will do overtime at the drop of a hat health permitting. When he said he couldn't as it was basically his Christmas with his son the women dishing out the hrs said "you said you could do Mondays. If you can't then I don't see how you can do Monday's in Jan/Feb... We might need to rethink that"
There's the Christmas spirit right there. Nothing he can do, her word against his, she doles out the hrs. I appreciate she is under stress to keep the shop going - but what a nasty cow.

Rant Over.

Isn't the problem of picking on Dianne Abbott not that she isn't sometimes stupid enough to deserve it, but that she's not particularly stupid by the standards of stupid MPs, and that she's massively exposed to online abuse and picked on out of all proportion? If she was white, male or a Tory she wouldn't get half as much shit.
I'm not saying everyone who moans about her is a racist misogynist, but there's a fucking large crossover in that Venn diagram.
