Just use eBay. If you're not fussed on colour you can usually pick a new one up at a decent price. Hence why I have a camouflage coloured one.
@pyjackson, just use it to get a £20 Steam/ PSN/ XBL gift card.

Chumbles I dont really listen to radio 2. For the last 5 years or so I've only listened to news programmes on radio, scanning desperately for any small indication that we are not all totally fucked. I'm here to tell you that we are perpetually fucked; choosing a party to vote for is merely a choice of how you're going to be screwed. The Tories will bugger about reorganizing everything so that whatever they touch is in a perpetual state of chaos (the NHS is a prime example*). Currently there are 2 wings. The Blue Meanies: the Holy Brexiteers who believe in the Immaculate Deception; i.e. that we only need to unmoor the country, leave Europe behind and rise from the waves all shiny and new. The other wing, the WhytheFuckDidWeHaveAReferendums, would like the same thing, but have just enough brain cells left to realize that that is economic suicide. Both wings are clipped,. Momentum (sorry, 'Labour') will attempt to give a 'democratic voice' to all (= Momentum members and the Trade Unions). The country will be run by committees, LOTS of committees on which a minority of the elected parliamentary members will be harangued and accused of thwartng the 'will of the people'. We will be told the 'will of the people' by St Jeremy and MacDonald de Torquemada. We will return to the days of spectacular inflation... The Liberals will throw great parties. They are hoping for a new charismatic leader, rather than someone who looks like a bewildered badger and sounds like an elderly male Hermione Grainger. They are desperately hoping that the long catalogue of scandals is a thing of the past. Yes. It's a tad difficult to work out whether to vote or not. Leaving the hyperbole behind, true measure of the situation is that we are much more likely to vote against them, than for them. *Ref the NHS, Nursey arrived this morning without giving me an hour's warning so I could take my morphine ... I am in bloody agony. I like to hear everyone else's bad news, so I listen to the World Service which has very few vox pops, so the content is much better. Fucking ouch

I understand there will be no 'Film 2019'.
Still, there's always Mark Kermit.

What's the opposite of 'everything's coming up faceless?" - that's what I've got. A kind relative gifted me a £20 hmv voucher for xmas. They still think it's 1985. I guess it's now worth about 2p. Also got thrashed repeatedly by German and dutch players at MarioKart online mode last night. Brexit now! Sounds like everything is coming up Shenguin. Edit: in an attempt to be helpful, the stores are staying open for the moment, and the advice is to use gift cards at a store as soon as possible. I can't get to the shop until tomorrow. However, using my cunning devious mastermind I thought I'll use it online. Haha, you'll have to get up early to outsmart Tuffers. Oh. No you won't. It's 1985 remember and there is no option to use the gift card online. And yes, this is* much more important than all those people now shitting it about their job. *it isn't really

I understand there will be no 'Film 2019'. Still, there's always Mark Kermit. If this is your way of telling me that Barry Norman has died, you're a bastard. <checks internet> Oh. Oh dear. Well, you're not a bastard, I suppose. It's possible that I'm a bit out of touch.

I hope somehow HMV stays afloat. There is a big HMV in Sheffield and if it goes then it will no doubt be replaced by Another Fucking Coffee Shop.
Starting to fog up a bit out there now.

DS4 controllers go as low as £35,but not every six weeks. I've purchased PSN credit as advised and will wait on the second of the tomb raider reboots to go on sale, unless I can think of something else I vaguely want to play but don't want a physical copy of. Edit: £38 currently.

Never bother getting a third-party pad. They are invariably not as good as the actual manufacturers' pad.

Never bother getting a third-party pad. They are invariably not as good as the actual manufacturers' pad. SCUF pads are highly rated if you're interested in ones with adjustable paddles etc...Expect to pay a bit more for these though (they start around £100 I think).

My thought for today. Have you ever been told you are the spitting image of a celebrity? When I was at college, I was apparently a young George Harrison. 10 years later and the Tom Hanks effect had set in. A fair few years ago, I was in France and a group of mature ladies were convinced I was Tim Robbins (shawshank era). Now, I look like this:- There was a time that I was described as a fat Robbie Williams. Not anymore, just fat.

I've done my bit to keep HMV open. Today that is. And over the last 35 years. I do not feel it is my fault it is fucked.
I do buy most of my music from Amazon, but only because HMV no longer offers a proper choice.

I'll be pretty sad if it closes completely. I expect they'll end up with a few shops and an online presence. I can't see them lasting as a major retailer.
I used to catch the bus home from school every day right outside HMV on New Street in Brum. So I'd pop in there all the time.
I would not put any money on Game lasting either.

I can't get on board with the whole 'save the high Street' thing. How many independent record shops did HMV put out of business over the years?* Also, after their narrow escape a few years ago did they actually try to do anything differently to survive?*
*obviously I've no idea.

Yes. They got worse. As have Game since their rescue. I don't think HMV will survive in anything like its current form. It's failed twice. So it's time to get the message. I've been there three times this year I think. I'll just be a bit sad. I used to buy loads of CDs there.

In the 80's in the centre alone Brum had HMV, Revolver (bought by HMV), Virgin, Tempest, The Plastic Factory, Reddingtons Rare Records, Highway 61, Swordfish, a couple of Stalls in Oasis, the BRMB shop in the Bullring, a shop in the Burlington whose name I can't remember. Smiths, Woolworths Boots Halfords and Tesco all sold music as well. There were 3 HMVs within 200 yards of each other at one time. There was a Tower Records briefly and MVC as well. I think the most open at any one time was 15 or 16. That is assuming I haven't forgotten any.
After HMV shuts I think Swordfish will be the only place left in the city centre selling CDs and records. And that is a smaller shop in a much worse position than it used to be.
Record retailing is not a growth industry.

So we're all agreed. Hmv (and Game soon) are closing and my gift voucher is worthless because BabyF buys everything digitally.
Thanks a bunch, BabyF.
