Calm down Destry Picasso. I don't get it. Last night you posted a Picasso-inspired portrait. Tonight Sheep mentioned eyes to the right and nose to the left. I was making a tenuous and misguided joke about those two things.

Are you saying Destry is Mick McCarthy?

Yes?
Fucking Hell, a NSFW warning might have been appropriate. That wasn't an innocent meatspin.

Not yet. I'm pretty confident there are still some unexplored ways for things to go wrong we should look into first.

We should sit down and think about what we are doing, before plunging off the cliff.

At some point the number of bodies piling up must mean the next over the edge has a pretty safe and soft landing.

I've pretty much resigned myself to never seeing the bomb go off in my life time; there's too much agreement against it and still too much sanity in the world. I thought Trump might be the one, but seriously, even he doesn't look like he'll do it. Given that Yemen barely makes the news, and watching lemmings is getting boring, I'm a bit pumped for brexit.

I'd like to see a proper volcanic eruption. I had hopes for Anak Krakatoa, but it seems to have shot its wad prematurely. About 70% of the island has gone. So it's going to be a good few decades before it is a major threat again.
For nukes India/Pakistan seems the best bet, with a side bet on Israel. The USA is more likely to set one off accidentally.

Climate change is such a disappointment. It's all too slow. Unless we get half an ice sheet calving off and causing a decent wave, then there's really not a lot of fun in watching species die off slowly and humans dying from bad weather.

It's a shame Shawdowplay is borked as my onboard was more spectacular. Working on fixing that cos I think there will be more hilarious mis-adventures as we head on. Props to whichever cruel sod though of nominating that as a system to visit. Luckily it's so close to the startpoint those pilots haven't lost much time, just hope they can cover the cost of replacing the ship. I like the mention of the chap who died getting stuck in 10km deep fissure - waypoint 1 is a similar crazy geology, and so I reckon this weekend there will be some canyon-racing and hill-climbs as we all meet up to find out the next stage of the route. Here's the view of me heading out to Thor's Eye....
