Is it meant to be snowing? Nothing but a dusting around here this week, not much more last week either. Waiting for Brexit levels of chaos tomorrow night getting home and then back to work on Friday.

Science fiction chatter..... I've just started reading the first of the Galactic Center series by Gregory Benford, In the Ocean of Night. He's an Astrophysicist as well as an author so it's going to be "Hard Science". It's a bit slow going in the early chapters. Are they worth sticking with. Any one read the series ? Published in 1977.

I am just going outside and may be some time, fam.
Bit parky out. Freezing fog not helping.
TV. First episode of True Detective s3. Off to a good start.
Games. Supercar/sportscar racing in GTA. The pariah got a new paint job as well.
As per usual today is my Friday.

Hello. I definitely didn't slip over on a patch of ice while getting out of the car this morning. Anyone who says I did is a liar.

Cold out but still no snow.
We have a new fuse board now though, and suddenly the internet is shit slow. Progress.

Hello. I definitely didn't slip over on a patch of ice while getting out of the car this morning. Anyone who says I did is a liar. You're supposed to sprain your ankle before you get in the car so you can't get to work. Not when you get to work and can't get home.

The only difficulty will be attributing it to slipping over.

Published when I was still reading a book every 2 days (in my teenage years I was voraciously getting through them, often 14-15 a week) I sort of liked this, but I found its author too keen on philosophizing... too self-indulgent - the brilliant ideas mixed in with the wacky. I did like the Jupiter project though

I think I've only read Timescape by Gregory Benford, but I really enjoyed it. I have a nagging feeling I've got In The Ocean Of The Night buried in the to read pile.
Chumbles Two books a day? The monks in the scriptorium must have really hated you.

Hello you lot.
Bit chilly isn't it? Maybe I shouldn't have shaved yesterday - could do with that added layer of face insulation.
Watched the first few episodes of the second series of Great News last night. Sad to hear that it has already been canned. It's really very good.
Followed up with some AC Odyssey. I accidentally fought a pitched-battle with the entire contents of a fort, which also included the island's leader and three mercenaries. At one point, I had to make a tactical withdrawal to get things to calm down a bit, before ploughing back in there to finish them off. Good times.

There's a larger possibility the outlaws are staying and Danky is moving out.
No games, no snow, no OTTM.

I was organized and lucky - I was School Librarian at 14 (it was a Secondary Modern so a studious nerd was very rare and only the fact that I was 6' 1" and 15 stone stopped me getting beaten up). Six months after the master in charge left and they forgot to put another one in charge ... so for three years I selected all the books I had to get them off an approved list, but even so we had a stunning SF&F collection!

Nice article over on the other place that matters about Silent Hill. I mean I assume it is, I'm not reading that.

In the days before the internet became all encompassing, book suppliers used to send crates of books round libraries to choose from. You had them for a couple of weeks to choose.
I'm not saying library staff ever took advantage of this to read books that weren't out for general sale yet.

Pure hedonism.
