I was only on the wind up. But its classic old man with too high an opinion of himself syndrome. Yeah, true. Still love (young) him though. Sorry, Him. God I feel old. Caught the thameslink earlier to st panc. A group of oh so bubbly "young uns" got on at gatwick, with their big massive suitcases, so happy they were on the way to london, I heard American, Dutch, deutsch and English languages/accents in the group. They were so happy, and loud. I moved carriages. I'm not proud.

I couldn't stand The Smiths Two of my heroes, both insulted, in the space of a week on here, by different people. Sir Basil, and now Him. You people.

Brow furrowed at the mystery of why everyone thinks he's a cunt, scratching out How Soon is Now on the violin, puffing away on a vegan vape pipe and refusing to pay royalties to Dr Watson?

Alien is my go to movie when I need cheering up.
In fact I’m just out of a BFI showing of a new 4K “print” for the 40th anniversary.
Now I haven’t been a member of BFI for about 15 years but do they no longer have film projectors? Are they all digital?
And to answer my own question - no. They have all types of projectors - it’s just that this Alien was digital.
And now I’m disappointed - the NFT2 screen is only a 2k digital projector as compared to the main screen which is 4K - so I’ll still have to get the 4K version when it comes out!

Alien is my go to movie when I need cheering up. It's a barrel of laughs alright. I tend to go for something like The Blues Brothers.

Evening le box
Bossman caught me googling the now defunct venue of my first proper gig. West Runton Pavilion 1982 - Motörhead. Looking at the date, he told me he was exactly 2 weeks old that day. Bloody hell.
Looking at the old gig guides from then you could see Sex Pistols for £1.30 and ac/dc for under £3. Tour listings consisted of pubs, theatres and the occasional festival. Happy days.
I'm in a mood for reminiscing....What was your first proper gig?

The earliest gigs I went to were Ian Dury, Graham Parker and Dr Feelgood but I'm hazy on the dates, this one in 1978 I remember quite vividly:

Paul Simon Graceland tour. It was pretty fucking cool.
I mean my mum and dad went and took me along. I was 13.
It is still one of the best gigs i've been to*.
* not that surprising. I have terrible taste in music**
**apart from S&G/Paul Simon obviously. They are ace.

I also saw Motorhead in what effectively was a large room, I stood next to Lemmy's bass bin and was about 6ft away from him, he was a scary looking bugger

Feelgood with Brilleaux and Wilco! Class act.......
Blockheads played locally a few weeks ago and sold out before I could get my act together. Would have loved to have seen them with Dury at the mic.
