>>an earful as I will be about 20 minutes later than usual getting in tonight.
TBF she's probably stressed out her nut with the babyfark situation. I'm not saying you aren't - but leeway for err, attitude may be required.

I will be sensitive and apologetic. But still, 20 minutes...

Looked at the other place new games article. 15 posts, nearly 1/2 from here, 1/5 asking for the chatterbox back.
Pretty damning. I am uncensored on the plus side.

I couldn't fathom why my Facebook feed was full of articles about battleships. Amipal. Amipal is why. Your welcome. What sort of battleships, by the way?

Look at the smiles on those women. It’s obvious that girls were happier back when there were clearly defined gender roles ... or possibly they are just laughing at dad’s ice white tank top / crimson shirt combination.

Evening.
Games: CIV V. It's not going well. Barbarian invasions, a complete collapse of my economy, happiness through the floor, a pitiful army and miles behind my rivals in tech. I'm the best at games.
Other: Babyfark, while the jokes and opinions are terrible I think it's time to lay off for a while. It might be that this place is a bit of light relief in an otherwise shitty world.

Look at the smiles on those women. It’s obvious that girls were happier back when there were clearly defined gender roles ... or possibly they are just laughing at dad’s ice white tank top / crimson shirt combination. "girls"?Do you dislike that term for ‘women’? It never bothers me - I also use ‘boys’ for men. It it was more a matter of semantics: as I’d used ‘women’ in my first sentence I didn’t want to use the word again. ‘Females’ always seems a bit scientific, and ‘ladies’ is awful. I also thought it was clear that I was using a deliberately patronising tone for ironic effect in the desperate hope of getting a ‘like’. Is using ‘girls’ in place of ‘women’ always wrong? I can see how if it is being used to belittle women it is unacceptable: for example, if an MP used it to describe the female members of the House of Commons, or in other workplace situations where it is used to deliberately make women seem less important and capable. My friends and I use ‘girls’ and ‘boys’ all the time, though - I’d never considered it to be an issue in an informal situation. Maybe destry could run a poll.

Of course it's not always wrong and it depends on the circumstances, though as a man I tend to avoid using it when talking about women apart from the times I don't

It's not a term of disrespect, in the local dialect, but can be misinterpreted by the ignorant. I prefer not to use the language of my people in a professional environment.
