I see Damian Green has resigned from cabinet in order to spend more time with his thumbnails.

Easily, personally, I didn’t find your comment disrespectful.
bigG, however, with his ‘wench’ comment, I find quite upsetting. Apparently women in his locality are okay with this- I smell bullshit. Stack it on the shelf with his opinions of millennials. Regular DailyMail reader. All I need is a Snowflake comment I will have won the dickhead Bingo.

Also, "Women! Know your place!" Girls just wanna have fun-ctional dishwashers. But I think the whole family is united in making fun of Dad who, to judge by his inane grin, is clearly off his rocker.

Is that okay with you, bawbag? Oh, by the way, bawbag is a local term. I guess that’s fine with you.

It's a dialect, and the dialect speakers are okay with this. I fully support peoples right to a cultural heritage. I fully understand that. In the dialect (or language - these things are fluent, after all) of the area where I grew up the word for girl, often used as a term of endearment, is very close to (and etymologically the same as) the standard language word for 'whore'. Mr Enemy can not bring himself to use that particular word, for me it's a nice word without negative connotations.

Destry, can I delete my profile from this forum? Please don't. It's always good to hear a different, and some times challenging, opinion.

Destry, can I delete my profile from this forum? You can, if you wish, but I would ask you to reconsider. If you really want to, select Profile/Edit Profile/Settings/Delete Account.

Low German Deern = girl, Standard German Dirne = hooker, extremely derogatory. Really freaks people out.

A word my mother, her six sisters, my grand mothers and great grandmothers used to mean unmarried women, with no negative meaning. Because they were dialect speakers. Why do you hate my people?

Oops, I can’t help feeling responsible for this.
Serenvikity, I’d be sad to lose you. You’ve been such a longtime contributor to chatterbox it would be a real shame for you to go. Also, we don’t have many women here, and somebody has to point out our pig-ignorance for us. I’ve had strong words with a number of different ‘boxers over the years - it never seems to matter much looking back.

It's easy enough to google the etymology/origin of "wench" and its original meaning (which it has retained in dialect) is just "young girl".

Perpetuate derogatory terms towards women or others if you want. Check out the etymology of other words that I hope you wouldn’t use. All words have an origin and aren’t necessarily appropriate.

Do you dislike that term for ‘women’? It never bothers me - I also use ‘boys’ for men. It's 'Boys II Men' not 'Boys Four Men'. Show some respect to the East Coast Swing.
