Waiting on a bus to get me to the train. It also is no gravy train.
TV. Finished fleabag. Booze. Some wine, some Golden Ale. Sun. Some cutting the grass and dinner outdoors. Games. The Division. Now level 17.5 - furthest I've got. Onwards and upwards. Getting some good shit.

I'm on the train too, we should have a meet up. At the back, near the toilets?

Morning,
Rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated. Sadly.

The stifled laughs and cries of "Piss off grandad!" Could be heard for miles...

Back at work then.
Too much sun and too little booze would be my summary. Had some good roast lamb yesterday. Some GOT and Westworld and a bit of PUBG. Speaking of PUBG I ran over another player and their head got stuck in my passenger window and I drove their lifeless corpse around for a while.

Another thing the great unwashed assume is that Local Government employees are Civil Servants. They aren't nearly paid as well and unless you've been there since 1976 the pensions are no longer this lottery win folk believe they are. My mum worked with a woman who apparently still had her Strathclyde Council contract. She was 67, physically unable to do the job and held off on retirement because she knew the care home was closing. It apparently cost in the region of £100,000 to make her redundant. And they say millennials are entitled... EDIT - Also, she'd been moved to night shift for her last year so that the allowance was included in the calculations of her final salary pension.

Hello great and glorious people of the blog.
National Drinking Weekend is over, so now it is time for you all to pay your dues.
Gamesblog: eat that, Medusa! Eat it! Ahem. I finally killed one of the mythical beasts I was busy dying from. I may well have punched the air in victory.
TVblog: Maniac. Very good. Very compelling.
OTTM: family over yesterday afternoon, and my dad decided to bring over a screaming chicken toy for my toddler. I may well have said to my dad "what the actual fuck" - said chicken is now awaiting a trip to the charity shop.

Good morning. I've just caught up on the remnants from yesterday. I understand a massive 'Kaneberg' was found blocking the Easter Weekend box.
OTTM: I'm sharpening up my favourite tools for the 'benefit' of a neighbour. But, on the plus side, there's a dog in Cambridge who can rollerskate.*
*There isn't.

Sounds like your dad was in a hurry and struggling for a gift and grabbed a dog toy by mistake.

Pyjakson When was this? I'm surprised they made her redundant. Lots of folk want to go and can't as would cost too much. Nowadays they find you a new job you don't want. If you don't take it then you've basically not been made redundant so they don't have to give you a payout.

Sounds like your Dad hates you and wants you to suffer the aural nightmare of a child playing with a loud toy constantly.

What grandparent wouldn't want their children to have to suffer with an appalling toy given to the grandchild?
Only a monster could resist this.

We have many loud children toys. In fact fatherhood is one great big attack on your ears, the worst are the jingles from kids' TV. I recently spent most of a night with the Paw Patrol theme song in my head.

If you don't take it then you've basically not been made redundant so they don't have to give you a payout. Roughly two years ago, I think. They were all getting paid off as the care homes in North Lanarkshire were being shut down, but the gold plated Strathclyde contract must have had better terms along with her 30 odd years of service. Quite a lot of the other staff were paid off and hired back into the council afterwards as well. Apparently business has been booming at the place that sells kitchens near the home.
