I always thought that "...a finger of fudge..." was "...full of peppery goodness" which never made any sense to me.

Hullo. I am back from my sister's biffday bash. I got there about 4ish and she and her husband were already plastered. Of note was the fact that of all our side of the family, I was the only one who attended. They hate her more than me. Still, free beer all day long, they were lining up quicker than I could sink 'em. Then, back to her place for some grub & more free beer! I am 7/10 on Destry's wreck-o-meter today. I may have some follicles from the pooch shortly. tl:dr. Free booze in Taunton for tiddles. |

Morning all.
My partner rang me at 1:30am, after I'd been asleep for an hour, to tell me that they could come home. Great!
So I got dressed and jumped into the car, slightly drunk with tiredness as I drove the fifteen minutes down the road to the hospital.
I parked easily in the now-empty car park, saying hello to a fox sheltering from the light rain.
Getting up to the ward, I found my son fast asleep. My partner told me that the nurse had informed them they could go home, but were just waiting for the doctor for the formal release.
The doctor didn't arrive until 3am.
I'm not bitter.

Amipal and destry, I hope things are looking better this morning. I've never thought of LARPing Only Fools and Horses in a 'spoons before, but id probably start by unscrewing a chandelier rather than launching myself through a gap in the bar.

XCom2. Finally giving this a proper go to offset my hopeless Apex addiction. I do love a bit of XCom but its hard as nails. 3 attempts to complete the first mission, with only one survivor.
Overwatch. Downloaded in the sale. A bit gaudy and arcadey for me, think I will leave it for the kids.
With all the money I've spent over the years on games I don't play, I could have bought a Switch and opened up a whole new catalogue of games not to play.

RollingEscargot I believe you are right: I shamelessly found that funny, but I proffer the excuse that Mrs. Torquemada has not long gone and misery* loves company. *More like agony; I'm signing out for a while, the next 4-6 hrs. are going to see an unpleasant intersection as the pain crescendos and the morphine wears off

Afternoon.
Internet flaky all morning, seems to have calmed down now. Moving carefully to avoid the curse of the Chatterbox, no accidents so far.
DQB2 report: atm experiencing the mandatory Change of Pace™, which I'm okay with, with the mandatory Stealth Section™, which is less welcome. I ninja'ed my way to the objective without problems, but was caught on the way back because I was getting impatient and because I thought the AI was more stupid than it actually is. Something that's really bothering me is that I unwisely ate up all my food with no prospect of getting more, so I'm currently operating at 0%. Doesn't seem to make any difference apart from my character appearing a bit more depressed, but I don't like the game suspending its own rules without telling the player what's going on.
Speaking of a whole catalogue of games not to play, the Switch autumn release schedule is driving me even more bonkers than usual. It is nice that publishers are releasing a lot of older games as well as new ones on the system, but do they really have to do it all at once? Pillars of Eternity I've bought and haven't touched yet, now the remaster of Grandia 1 & 2 has been released, all the Doom games have popped up on the Eshop and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter has been stealth dropped. Square Enix is releasing new games and at the same time is busy dumping its entire back catalogue on the system. My "wishlist" is getting longer and longer and my pile of shame larger and larger.
TV: finished Killing Eve, S2. In the end I just let the whole silliness wash over me. Acceptance was greatly facilitated by the fact that Preferred Mammal commented on the similarity of a work colleague with the character of Aaron Peel in appearance and control freakery, which left us both to fantasise about stepping into Villanelle's designer shoes.

I was doing some experimental cooking and couldn't find anything that works with eggs. Not even steak or mushrooms. I miss the BOTW style of cooking, but here at least there's no pixelated food.

Morning everyone. I was dead, but then I went to the pub and for a curry, and now I'm alive again. It's all good. Chumbles, probably not as evil as a 19th century navel surgeon at least. Hope it's not too bad. @tenthen, eggs work with everything, even experimental food. Cook something, doesn't matter what, then put a fried egg on it and it's improved. @11-year-old, I decided he wasn't allowed to play Destiny 2. For various reasons that I explained to him, but also for the best reason, that I am a bastard. |
