For me, the Ramones. I didn't like either much; to prove a point I wrote a punk style song in 35 minutes, played it for my mate who then insisted we play it in the scratch band we'd called the Book Ends. The two of us and a third guy had promised in a drunken stupor to do a set at a revue for the County Library... Nerves would have been bad enough, but in the front row was the County Librarian with his 15 year old daughter... Chorus (fast driving beat) Stick it in your album, put them in your pocket But don't show me your fambly fotos Give em to your mother, Give em to your father, But don't show me your fuckin fotosOne of the verses was (rock/blues with a travelling bass) Your father's got my car fixed up, payment comes in rings We've had a talk about the birds and bees, ...and other useless things Meanwhile I've been screwing you all day He doesn't know we're getting our end away ...I was supposed to sing/shout the last couplet at the best looking woman in the room and I bottled it as that was little miss jailbait, looking more and more interested next to his augustness whose urbane smile was becoming more and more fixed ... Not my best career move.

Games. Division 2 with a random as my pal hadn't sorted his ps+. Picked up far too much stuff.
TV. A documentary about the audio cassette. Old Dutch guys who invented it and modern day hipsters. Plus the guy from black flag who can fuck off.
I unfortunately lost a lot of cassettes to a prick landlord who a) threw them out and b) forged my signature on a rent cheque in the mid 90's fucking me financially. Pre licence Kiss, some other London pirates and various DJ sets. Oh and an OG Gameboy as well. Still smarts. He, err got his comeuppance and I won't say any more than that. No Tiddles-esque violence but some Tiddles-esque grassing and stuff.
Opening a new cassette, ripping the plastic seal off was always great. We used to get ours down the pool hall as there were guys who would steal packets from Woolies and sell you them half price.
Anyway. I refer you to Shenguins weekend poll option "I don't know I never read his posts"

Telly: I watched some of The Boys (think Fight Club vs evil Superman) and an average movie with Chris Evans where they smuggle Jews out of Africa.
Games: I got a 2nd and a 3rd on PUBG, played some more Titanfall 2 campaign (great game) and a single game of Apex Legends solo where I came 7th and everyone seems to pick Pathfinder.
Digging: My hole is huge now.

I watched 'Call the Cops' on C4 about the stirling efforts of Devon & Cornwall Constabulary to not Taser arseholes. Interesting. 4*
As an anecdote. I've had dealings with them before. A pissed bloke (no idea who) was looking for a lady to give him a bed for the night 'I swear on my kid's life, I won't do anything'. He had got the wrong flat. When he got no response, after 15 minutes of shouting, he smashed the Vodka bottle he was carrying and fed it through the letterbox. Bloke casually leaves and goes across the road to the Indian takeaway. Cops arrive. Tids tells cops where he is, what he's wearing etc.. Cops find bloke, ask him if he done summink naughty. Bloke says 'No'. Cops leave.
The blue line is very thin around here. That's why it's a good idea to carry a Glock 26 Gen 4, at all times.

He, err got his comeuppance and I won't say any more than that. No Tiddles-esque violence but some Tiddles-esque grassing and stuff. The HMRC are fruitful founts of troubles for landlords ... the shitty landlords are often the ones who claim non-existent expenses against tax for work not done on the property - a simple logbook given to them can cause a world of pain for the shysters

I'd have thought losing a Kiss tape was cause for celebration.
I'm not saying Kiss were terrible, but it is no surprise Crankcaller is a fan.

I can see Keef has put up an article about the magic of tape and disk loading games back in the day. I do remember the horrible C64 screeching and the horizontal bars of various colours on the screen moving up and down. The best were the ones which let you play space invaders while the game loaded.

I'd have thought losing a Kiss tape was cause for celebration. It was the soundtrack to some crazy, crazy nights. Pre-licence Kiss FM tape. But you knew that.

Dad's not well, I think we got a gold-digger here. Albeit, a smoking hot tattooed one. I should mention that he still lives with Mum & Dad and recently asked if she could live with them. No, I don't think so. Berk.

OTTM: My brother has a rather attractive girlfiend, who is 23. He is 53. Beats my 27 yr age gap; I wasn't nervous picking her up after school when she was 17 and I was 44... the only convenient place was in a crescent where all the houses were police tied houses... About this time the Sun was doing all its dirty old men exposés... Every single time I used to hunch down in my Senator thinking if someone knocks on the window I will have a heart attack. The eventual marriage lasted 10 years before she left me for an older man!

I had a difficult decision to make with one of my Amigas. Seemingly every other floppy disk I put in the drive resulted in a read error. Still not sure whether this was the drive or the disks themselves. Anyway, floppy disks are beginning to degrade ("bit rot"), so I'm replacing the drive with something called a Gotek. This allows you to store disk images on a USB stick, and read them from there. I will miss the drive noise though.

I don't have nostalgia for Amiga disks, I do for the mouse however as it was my first ever mouse and I played for hours at a time with Premier Manager 2 and Champ manager. I think this was the one:

I have vague memories of tape loading sounds of the BBC model B, and later big floppies.
But the 3.5 inch floppy sound of the Archimedes is the one etched into my memory. Nice thudding noises.
Of course now I use professional quality apple macintosh products with SSD drives that make no sound at all.
