When I hear the name 'Nigel Farage' for some reason the words rope and nearest lamp-post come to mind as well
When I hear the name 'Il Duce' for some reason the words rope and nearest lamp-post come to mind as well
When I hear the name 'Martin Luther King' for some reason the words rope and nearest lamp-post come to mind as well
When I hear the name 'Clare Short' for some reason the words rope and nearest lamp-post come to mind as well
When I hear the name 'Meghan Markle' for some reason the words rope and nearest lamp-post come to mind as well
Just trying something out, to see how it feels. It depends a bit on the person named and the context, but in all cases it feels a bit off.

Philip Pullman deleting his tweet will do nothing for his credentials as future leader of the resistance. When the Mad Max dystopia kicks in I'll be looking to someone much more hard-core, like Gary Lineker or Revd Richard Coles. I've preemptively nailed my flag to Lord Humungus' mast.

Curry place was full, so I've come straight to the pub. BDT is go, on an empty stomach.
Anyway, I have a book to read before other human beings who are somehow offended when I read in front of them (seriously, wtf? Edith Wharton. It's not like I'm reading jazz mags and touching myself) arrive in about an hour and ruin my evening with their so-called sociableness.

Read your Edith Wharton, but fool your friends by holding it inside a copy of a jazz mag.
