I’m in the angry tent.

I’ve got a bit of paper somewhere that says something about upholding the rule of law and the proper administration of justice and soI’m pretty sure that, at some point, the “big fucking stick” of Dr Alex Paterson* can justifiably be to applied.

I’m a big fan of Umberto Eco, have been for years. I’m fucking furious that It’s now looking like I’m going to have to answer some of his harder questions. Possibly the really hard ones. I thought better people than me killed these cunts after Nuremberg?

There are some from mainland Europe in here who’ve made this country home, I know that much. Sorry about the twats, really. My brother’s been sort-of-Spanish for 20 years, many of my best friends from childhood have European wives, husbands and children, my current friends have English, Welsh, Scots, polish, french, Spanish, German names, I’m fucking angry - and sorry - but mostly angry.

I wasn’t born here, my parents weren’t born where I was born; I’m a product of colonialism, empire and commonwealth, a citizen of nowhere and I’m pretty pissed off.

I’m in the angry tent. What am I doing? I’m putting money into the labour war chest, I can afford to and I can see no justifiable reason not to: we have to destroy this shit. I’m also putting some into the right (I hope) places: anti racist and facist orgs, anti-Jewish-defamation orgs. Not a lot, I’m a tight bastard, let’s be reasonable. And using my limited channels of communication to express to residents of green sofas that this shit will not fly.

And the next demo gets 240lbs of fat yokel fury.

I'm worried that the only thing that will change things is wide scale violence /disorder.

I've always been of the belief that protest never really achieves anything. But were the entire country to come to a standstill for days, I think that may have some effect.
