I'm reading reports about the latest developments in Syria and I'm just feeling so exhausted with worry again. I thought the misery had ended, but of course the orange idiot had to inflict more pain on this battered region.[ There should be an entrance exam on geopolitics for all applicants for the job.

I am assuming Sheeps wrote the orginal post embedded in Mlu's post that I am referring to in my post. I'd forgoteen about Knausgaard, that was two weeks of my life I'll never get back. I see he is still gracing the literary world with his genius. Dr Alimantado?

What country should I mess up next? I could turn this into a lucrative business. Maybe the CIA will be interested. France. Definitely France.

I've not read Knausgaard. One of his books has been lent to me.
I am keeping it for a short while. Then returning it, pretending to have read it some months previously. I will describe it as pretentious waffle, but be a bit vague on details.

I've not read Knausgaard. One of his books has been lent to me. By the man himself or a third party? Which of his books? I hear he quite likes Ursula Kleguin. You should probably return it soon or he'll write a 1000 page microbiography about it.

A Guardian pick with a serious comment on a SERIOUS issue. What have you ever achieved?

I have read Knausgaard's My Struggle Book 1. It was annoying and pretentious self-satisfied self-flagellating posturing, though, annoyingly, successful in some ways. I lent it to someone who isn't intelligent enough to be able to read it.

Shen, I read the same book and agree with everything you say. Why would you lend it to someone unless they needed material to light their coal fire?

Hello
Have you seen Joker? The Joker - the film about the Joker?

Lazy! I have not. I have gone from really wanting to see the film to thinking that I do not care for it. Can you give me an enlightened opinion on The Joker?

Shen, I read the same book and agree with everything you say. Why would you lend it to someone unless they needed material to light their coal fire? I didn't feel the need for it to be in my collection of books, and I didn't have a problem with trying to inflict it on someone else.

Lazy! I have not. I have gone from really wanting to see the film to thinking that I do not care for it. Can you give me an enlightened opinion on The Joker? I liked it, I think. Much better than all recent superhero films. Bleak. But... I don't want people to think I'm a white supremacist or incel. I mean ... I can see it how it pushes those buttons. Also ... I had misgivings about some of its implications and suggestions. But maybe it is a film actually *about* white supremacism. I don't know... I mean I don't want to say too much in case I spoil the viewing experience.

I mean, you know ... It's not better than Superman 2 or Spiderman 2.
I even look like an incel these days. An old fashioned one. Green parka.. glasses. I'm thinking of getting a scuffed Aldi bag for carrying about my possessions.

I was planning on watching El Camino later, but one of my colleagues has just provided a detailed synopsis, so I don't think I'll bother.

scamander hit us up with a link to the podcasts. I am not playing much except Apex Legends and a spot of XCom 2. I gave up on RDR2 because it was all too much and Arthur's voice annoyed me. I am quietly pumped for Outer Worlds. @book burning blog. I have not read or burned any books by that Knausgaard fellow, but i was once party to a bookburning while drunk as a student. I am not proud of it, but the 90s was a more optimistic time in which it was widely considered that everything was 'well sorted' and further enlightenment was therefore unnecessary.
