I am fighting a losing NP game - all the rules changed to make it less lucky... bloody random map has handed the game to 3 players with access to double the number of stars, and this time I have a lunatic ally... He'd been afk for some time and had refused to answer my pleas to shut a highly dangerous warp gate; so I took Atik and broke the gate. At his pleas I've already taken out 1 of his 3 attackers. The star is barren (NR1)

I would like to retract my earlier Uncharted headshot bragging as apparently young scubar has 140 in the second Nathan Drake adventure. I'm stuck in the first one in the flooded city and currently can't by the barrels. Will go back to it. Going to prepare my mise en place for this evening's dinner. |

And surely if someone else does postdate a cheque you've written (e.g. adds 21 or so at the end of the date) they are just deferring receipt of the money.
Why would they do that?

I got me bookkeeping exams dun I The data on the cheque, not when it was written is when the cheque's validity starts, so dated 11th Jan 2021 that cheque will be valid until at least 6th July 2021. But it is invalidly dated if you're trying to cash it before 11th Jan 2021. If you write cheques, leave NO spaces... put a line through the prompt line after the word ONLY after the payee and written amount and a line after the numeric amount. Half the idiots I played poker with always used such cheques to pay for bets that they couldn't meet immediately. Occasionally you'd get one cancelling that cheque... Always play table stakes and set a limit. Never play with strangers*  *a bona fide Magic Circle member can show you why, as one did for me. An expert can get you to shuffle, then cut, hand him the deck and deal you 4 Kings and himself 4 Aces. |

But surely appending '11' to the '20' dates it as '2011' i.e 9 years ago? Such a cheque would be out of date.
If I wrote you a cheque today and dated it '11/1/20' what could you possibly amend it to that would put me at risk, assuming of course you don't amend the amount. 11/01/2011 means it would be rejected by the bank as out of date. 11/01/2021 would mean you'd have to wait a year to cash it.

In any case, the last time I wrote a cheque was November 2019. The time before? November 2018. (Both for my niece's birthday)
I'm guessing the next (and probably last) time will be November 2020 when she turns 18.
