Nostalgia's not as good as it used to be.
Morning all!!
Caught up on Discovery last night, pretty much confirmed what I thought about a certain character. I then went to bed early as I was stupidly tired.

Aren't policemen young these days?
Hi!
We played A Feast for Odin again last night, I didn't win this time as I was experimenting with how to get the best points combos going. I think ive cracked it for the next time we play. The key appears to be to get the higher islands and spam the resources on them. You can thank me for that info later.
Had one race on GT Sport, a gp3 championship race at Interlagos
Started 11th, was up to 8th on the 2nd lap when, as usual, I got spun out by some twat then I fucked it on the back straight trying to recover and went down to 16th. I eventually recovered to 9th but it was a "what could have been race" as a top 3 finish was a possibility. Even at safety rating S there are too many twats.

Morning.
I still don’t really know what’s going on as management are a bunch of cvnts who don’t tell anybody anything.
In other news I watched Brooklyn 99 whilst applying for jobs, and played some Fractured But Whole afterwards.

I do like Brooklyn nine nine. Are you on the latest series? I've only watched about four of it.
So have management given it the "when we know you'll know" line or just said SFA?

What should I have for dinner? I've got some chicken in the fridge, and a variety of vegetables and carbs.

Series 4, which has just appeared on Netflix. And pretty much yeah, although it’s a “when we know, we may or may not tell you, but don’t believe the press speculation, even though they’ve been right more often than not” Cvnts

scubar - don't take it personally, they probably don't know what the heck is going on. My advice is to work out what types of jobs you are interested in and format CVs to suit each type of job. Everything on your CV should be about getting an interview, CVs don't get you the job.
The mistake many made (including myself) is to have one standard CV. Instead create several, each tailored to a particular role you are interested in and which highlight the skills necessary for that role. Job ads often feature the key words the recruiter is looking for, try and spot these to include in your CV.
It might seem a lot of work creating CVs for a specific role and/or an advert but it's worth it. The initial filtering of CVs might be as basic as "dump any CV which doesn't include X as a skill or the person doesn't have X years experience in the same role".
When I went through it (twice), it felt like I was in a tumble dryer. The temptation is to get as many responses to jobs out as quickly as possible which makes you feel productive. Go for quality responses, recruiters will know why you are applying as they will have seen the news, they want to be reassured that you don't simply 'just want a job'*.
*which is ridiculous when you think about it, few people work because they inherently love what they do. I was once sat on a panel with a director of the company who seemed to expect stupid levels of zeal from an applicant over what was a basic admin role. But it's sadly part of the game.

10 minutes late into the work as the train staff had trouble getting in on time. Watched most of Mindhorn, thought it was actually pretty rubbish. Loads of snow round here.

What should I have for dinner? I've got some chicken in the fridge, and a variety of vegetables and carbs. Bung the chicken and chopped veg (hopefully some peppers, tomatoes, garlic and onions in there) in a baking tray, chuck some oil over the lot and bung in the oven for 40 minutes.

To be fair, the Bayeux Tapestry was probably made in England, so Amipal and Sean would be well within their rights to reclaim it on behalf of the nation. I am sure one of them has a downstairs toilet with walls big enough.

Snow is bad up here.
Patched work and I'm going to sit and play the FighterZ beta more because they've extended it for another day.
I might even go out and make a snowman.

I know someone mentioned totaljobs for looking yesterday but does anyone use or might use job agencies? I've used job agencies, got one of my jobs through them. It's always best to find one that specialises in your industry and to take everything they tell you with a pinch of salt and be selective with the jobs they offer you. At the end of the day, as with all agents, they are only interested in their commission, so will force any jobs at you, no matter how terrible. They also have a tendency to focus on their most recent applicants, so you'll need to keep on top of them if you're to be kept in consideration for jobs. That said, they can generally talk you up to employers and get you guaranteed interviews with little work on your part so there are benefits.

Tea - stuffed mushrooms / chips / beans ...... probably best i'm not in a crowded office today as I have a garlic bow-wave.
Tonight... CURRY

Morning.
I played a bit of Telltale Batman. Its OK.
I dont think its worth moving the tapestry. If there is even a 1% chance of damage it should stay where it is.
People will be looking at it through glass anyway which is basically like looking at it through a computer screen.
If we do get it we should steal it. Not the country, us. Be bit of a laugh.

Morning.
Job chat.
I'm working a shit job just now while I do an Open Uni degree in energy and sustainability engineering (hence my chatterbox presence). Now that I've got about 18 months to go I'm thinking I should get my foot in the door somewhere and get some basic experience. I've been keeping an eye on indeed, but not sure it's the best way to go as nothing is coming up. Any suggestions?
Last night.
Did some coursework and made chickpea curry again, freezing a couple of portions this time. When I dried myself this morning, I noticed my towel smelled of curry. Tonight I'm going to have to investigate if this has affected other fabrics in the house.

Tonight I'm going to have to investigate if this has affected other fabrics in the house. I was in a semi-similar position to you last year (though I packed up my job to go back full time). Scottish Enterprise has some good programmes for paid intern opps. That's where I got my last summer job and seem to be looking good for a permanent job with them when I finish. It's also worth identifying local SMEs of interest and contacting them directly to see if they have any opportunities. It's also where I got my first proper (non-call centre job) after leaving uni. Other gaming - a little bit of PC FF9 and some emulation gaming. I seem to remember getting much more gaming done last time I was at uni. Though that might explain why I'm having to do it all again 10/15 years later.

Had to send 3 chaser emails to this guy at work over the last month, today he responds with "none of your previous emails reached my inbox". Surely it's better to just apologise and leave it at that than come up with some lame excuse.
