Plans: Preparing a sausage casserole for tea.
Either playing more Zelda or reading more Fiery Furry or both. The book is giving me a headache, though, so the game might be preferable.

the last Star Wars film I saw was the 2nd episode of the newish ones - I have no idea what number it was as I've lost track of it all. It was the one after the one that had Jar Jar Binks. I can remember nothing about it, except that it was shit. Should I bother trying to catch up with it all? If you like Star Wars then yes, if you're a baby man who is scared of women then no.

Well, that just it - I quite liked the first three, but was very unimpressed with the next two. Nothing to do with how many women were in it ... though I am boycotting Dr. Who until they get a man back to play the part.
I'm not sure that I like Sci-fi movies all that much. I like them in principle, but don't think they're that great once I've watched them. I mean, people go on about how great Blade Runner is, but I just think it's ok - a good film, but not great. I liked Star Trek when it had Patrick Stewart, but I haven't bothered much since. I thought The Matrix was fucking awful.
... I probably shouldn't bother watching them given what I've just written.

Maybe I'll give them a go. I'll have to get the one with Ewan McGregor first. I don't even know how many there are after that!

The new crop of films are just as bad as the prequels.

Anyone got anything planned for this evening? I'm going to be doing coursework until about 8, then I'm heading out to see a Star War. Finally. I assume it's the uncut version? linkhttps://www.theguardian.com/film/2018/jan/17/star-wars-actors-mock-fan-recut-film-remove-women"The person who posted the new cut regretfully notes that their version features “plot holes and continuity errors”." I really need to find some time to catch up on Star Wars films on my own. The world is more likely to blow up like the Death Star than Mr Enemy agreeing to watch them with me. Why would you marry such a man?

The new crop of films are just as bad as the prequels. While this is hyperbole of the highest order, its certainly true they are not as good as the originals. Ive enjoyed them, but the last one had too much overt comedy, it didn't feel very Star Warsy. On the other hand, I thought Rogue One was brilliant.

I really need to find some time to catch up on Star Wars films on my own. The world is more likely to blow up like the Death Star than Mr Enemy agreeing to watch them with me. Why would you marry such a man? He's got other qualities and I wasn't aware of how severe his aversion to Sci-Fi was until it was too late. No point in having buyer's remorse now. I read an article by someone with face blindness (like Mr Enemy) on living with the condition and the problem of following the plot of films because they can't recognise the protagonists. He was wondering whether he liked the original SW film so much because it was easy to know who's who: there's the young one, the older one, the really old one, the woman, the one with the black mask, the hairy one, a tall droid and a short droid. Easy to follow. (He's been very good with watching Stranger Things, but will probably ask to watch "something else" once we finished it.)

I am just ahead of the curve in hating this annual Disney shitfest. For me there has been nothing memorable about the current films, no decent villains left, painful scenes involving Solo jnr and Jedi chick communicating over the distance and a truly forgetful musical score.

Lots of people were hating the film before it came out, so not really "ahead of the curve", good try though

Star Wars: I have watched the original trilogy. I skipped the prequels. I then watched A New Hope Recycled aka The Farce Awakens. It was okay.
