Just switched the cricket on only to see two England wickets fall. Hah. Needn't have worried.

Are people waiting for monster hunter next week or has the beta put trees across the hype train line? Technomancer and bound by flame are cheap but are they any good? Still working on Deus Ex managing director and putting to sleep all the police I find. I didn't realise it was out so soon. I'm tempted by it but will probably give it a few weeks and see how it reviews. I've also resolved to clear my existing backlog before buying any new games

I enjoyed Bound By Flame. It is limited, but reasonably enjoyable. Except for the last fight. This requires a different strategy from the rest of the game and means you basically need to lose it once then go back and redo it. Also it goes on too long and is annoying. The fight, not the game.
I liked the first few minutes of The Technomancer. Sadly the music was not weird pagan folk to a techno beat. Or Che Guevarra and Debussy to a disco beat.
I will be getting Monster Hunter.

I used to love test cricket when I was younger and have many happy memories of watching England on tv in the summer holidays. There was a gentle pace to the proceedings, a relaxing atmosphere and an appreciation of the finer points of the game such as few quick singles or understanding how the gradual change in conditions affected the game being played.
Limited over cricket is nothing like that, it's for people who like watching monster trucks or drag racing and want something to cheer every 2 minutes.

In Monste Hunter, is the 'monster' meant to be the creatures you kill or are you a monsterous hunter?
All the beasties just seem to be animals. Exotic ones, perhaps but are they monsters? That seems harsh.

I've just had a pre-hoovering roll'n'crisps. I hoping the carbs will give me the slow release needed to see me through the hoovering till lunchtime.
A swig of irn-bru (full fat. No aspartame.) And I'm on the way.

Morning all, Today's weather forecast for London and the South East: That last bit seems oddly specific. I think Scubar works near Winchester. It's raining on Scubar. Scubar's real name is Rob McKenna and he's a rain god? I can't remember whether he's expressed his dislike of Barry Manilow.

I can't remember whether he's expressed his dislike of Barry Manilow. “Space,” it says, “is big. Really big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mindbogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist’s, but that’s just peanuts to space.”

I don’t work near Winchester. I don’t work anymore but when I did, it wasn’t near Winchester.
However I did have to drive via Winchester on my way down, and yes, it did rain.

Is gitting gud at Souls and Bloodborne classed as a job?

It's more a vocation than a job.
My advice would be to get proper pissed tonight. Rancidly drunk. Angry drunk. Let out the frustration. Once the hangover has cleared you'll feel much better about things.

There is a small risk that first thing tomorrow afternoon you'll still feel rotten and have an appalling hangover. But them's the breaks.

Mostly my advice is to get drunk and you'll feel better afterwards. Works in any situation unless someone has hepatitis or jaundice. Or has really low self-esteem due to problem drinking. Any other situation though.

Sadly I can’t get horribly drunk tonight due to a (poor) decision on my part to go on a long road trip and abuse the fuel card I won’t have to pay for.
Tomorrow night though...

Still working on Deus Ex managing director and putting to sleep all the police I find. The beta of Monster Hunter led to a pre-order from me. Loved it. I'm thinking it may be the one game that can drag me away from Stardew.

I think the perceived lack of pump for Monster Hunter is that the small fry boxers who were really into it (Quarkers, 'Big' worv and so on) didn't survive the transition from the guardian 'box to this 'box.

I see I'm not the only one to harbour doubts about Worv's magnitude. I would be fuelling the pump, but I've got too much Open Uni work until early June to get into such a time consuming game. I'm already trying to resist picking up Nier now it's at £30 because I've got a wee backlog building. Yakuza will probably be my next game in March some time. Crying emoji. Also, what happened to Dinocity? First victim of the world's least elite fighting tournament?
