I've decided to get hammered tonight on Scubar's behalf. Least I can do. I'm going out syphoning petrol.

I think the perceived lack of pump for Monster Hunter is that the small fry boxers who were really into it (Quarkers, 'Big' worv and so on) didn't survive the transition from the guardian 'box to this 'box. I see I'm not the only one to harbour doubts about Worv's magnitude. I would be fuelling the pump, but I've got too much Open Uni work until early June to get into such a time consuming game. I'm already trying to resist picking up Nier now it's at £30 because I've got a wee backlog building. Yakuza will probably be my next game in March some time. Crying emoji. Also, what happened to Dinocity? First victim of the world's least elite fighting tournament? Oddly I don't really have much time for games, and mostly they go unfinished after a few hours, but somehow in every monster hunter game I've put in at least 40 hours. Monster Hunter finds a way.

Great, now I've got an ambulance in my head... Hello all! Rum, R&C, MST3K, not in that order. Working from home again today, didn't seem much point me going into the office for one day.

South Park: Broken Bum found a way over the Christmas holidays and I ended up needing an extension for one of my hand ins. Monster Hunter would probably have an even more detrimental effect, so I have to avoid it. Attempting to 'further' yourself is just the worst.

Another games article on the Guardian? What the hell is going on?

In order to avenge Scubar I am planning to purchase a set of voodoo dolls representing the Carillion board of directors. I'll use an Old Babylonian curse on them that will have the effect that any enterprise they touch will turn to shit... hang on, I think I can save my money.

Another games article on the Guardian? What the hell is going on? A four stars review! Good to see that Keza is upholding time-honoured traditions. However, I worry that the instructions for the file marked "Chatterbox" that she was given was Do not touch - awaiting toxic decontamination. Unfortunately I dare not engage in the lunch chat btl, what with FRANK and being in premod. (In case you are wondering, I had the other half of yesterday's smoked salmon. Still living the high life.)

Another games article on the Guardian? What the hell is going on? I see the Amiga'a Superfrog got a mention in the comments. Hell of a platformer that was. That was the golden age of platforming. James pond was another classic Tent Hen - I'm keeping my comments as bland as possible. The exception being the outsourcing article the other day, where I resorted to sarcasm and swearing

I will probably buy running-away-from-big-monsters, mostly for the social aspect, fashion monsters and the cats on tiny monsters.
In other news I’m still in TJVS-level premod but somehow managing to converse with that lunatic Dowling1981 on the Russian article. This does not constitute progress.

I have colossal games pump for MediEval Remasted. Great game. Admittedly I could just get the PS1 out of the loft and play it on that but I can’t be arsed.
If you’re an idiot, argue about SCART and component cables under this post. Really have at it. Knock yourselves out.

So long as the TV has a scart input you should be ok. I think my new TV can take the 3 wires separately. I haven't actually plugged the PS2 in to it yet. Alternatively you can get a scart-HDMI adaptor

That sounds like a lot of work. I’ll just buy the new game. It’s basically the precursor to Souls. Skeletal dead dude, big sword, lots of cobbled streets, all of that.

Original Play Stations only had co-ax output, and require an analogue TV tuner.

We are like the Terminator's magic porridge pot. We cannot be stopped. That's a good analogy for the wires at the back of my TV. They're either breeding or there's superfluous wires lying there, connected to nothing. There's probably one of those old ones that let you switch between tv and games back there tangled in the mess.

I've got a pretty good collection of wires.
My Cat5 and cat5E collection is museum quality. I've also got a very strong selection of 1.5m HDMI cables.

When our student digs were robbed my Gamecube remained safe in my bedroom as the wires were tangled up so much at the back they could not get the aerial or power cord so left it be. Unfortunately the nice neat stack of games left on the desk were never seen again (including Ikaruga).

That's pretty funny, imagine you came back and he (or she #imwithher) was on the floor untangling the wires. Ikaruga is worth a fair whack now, is it not? Some guy in Dundee still has my copy of Skies of Arcadia Legends for the Gamecube. It's worth about £70 now, but I'd be tempted to keep it as it's a personal favourite.
