Morning!
Did we all watch University challenge yesterday?
I'm astounded to announce I won a round of bonus picture questions and a got a starter picture question vs the idiot university students.
Firstly they couldnt identify a Commodore 64 with its logo edited off, then they mistook a NES for a Nintendo 64 ( Yes thats right, they mistook a NES for an N64! ).
Glad I didnt waste any time going to University.

I confess I prefer the 'How can I make this pile of bits work stuff... You did it justice, though - my favourite bit was the hyper close-up of your face after days krpt inside... very dramatic. Killed it. I wish I was in Barnsley. I had a colleague who lived in Barnsley - I was giving him a lift South from Leeds at 1 pm... only about 45m tops I thought ... The M1 that afternoon was the scene of one of the biggest pile-ups in UK history. We'd not long passed a junction when the traffic stopped. I got him home at 1.30 a.m. ... We were greeted by his wife whose Barnsley accent was so thick I couldn't understand a word of what she said. The superheated, foetid atmosphere of their house, the excited 'nippers' who should have been in bed and the three dogs made the prospect of catching a few hours of sleep on their sofa seem very unlikely. So I drove on to Hinckley and slept a couple of hours at my mate's place... one of the foulest journeys I can recall. I was so goddamn tired, cold and had gone without my 4-5 pints of Marstons at t'Weavers. My home from home for about 20 years ... |

Before the plague takes me though I think a little uncharted2 tonight. Try and batter the lad on the train.
Spent today setting up android boxes we're going to use for PowerPoint on TV's. Had to remove all the shady TV streaming apps they had installed first. Didn't realise there were so many.

Freezing outside when I had to put bins out tonight, probably made worse by not bothering with a coat.
Truffle pizza and fried egg for dinner, accompanied by a South African red, with a South African white by my side. Nice.
Now back to my far too grand building projects in DQB2 that are still better costed and engineered than our Prime Minister's infrastructure pipe dreams.

Just watched another episode of ST Discovery S2E10; btw directed by Jonathan Frakes. I really don't understand why some of you don't like it*... but I urge you to keep trying - the plotting is bloody brilliant. Like Babylon 5, there are different length arcs within what's starting to become apparent as the most recomplicated plot I've seen since B5. 5*
*I understand a lot of Americans won't like it, because you need to remember what went before and thinking beyond one or two episodes is really difficult for them.
