When a young junior employee makes a mess of something I generally assume it is the fault of the more senior staff for not explaining what to do in a way which was understandable.

I've certainly failed to explain to more junior staff what I wanted them to do in a way they could understand in the past. Generally by assuming a one off explanation was enough.

Hi I've had to take over the one and only study that was given to the millennial because he was on the verge of ballsing it up. The sweet taste of vindication. Or cruelty...either way, fuck him. I’m genuinely surprised that you haven’t yet simply set fire to him.

Flat Earth, over rated games and redundancy not sorry I missed today's chat You say that in a way that implies there are days when you would be sorry to have missed it.

He's swiftly approaching the end of his probation period, its safe to say that fucking up a study by not doing the things he had said he had done, 2 days before the main experiment, is grounds to ditch the twat.
Pretty sure in stuck with the fucker though, my bosses are soft as fuck when it comes to getting rid of idiots.
I'm still here after all.

Really enjoying the new series of Gomorra. I'm amused by the hipster looking young team but the plot is as good as ever.

Just finished Daruk's challenge (more like Daruk's cakewalk) of the Champions' Ballad. Two down, two more to go; next is Mipha.
For strategic reasons we can't have Burns Night on Thursday, so we are having our haggis tonight.

RUM!
It's been at least a fortnight since we've done rum-blog so I'm shining the rum-signal light.
I don't really drink but am in the mood for a tot this weekend for around £20.
Can any of our resident rummies direct me between Kraken Black Spiced and Woods 100 Navy?

]You just need sodomy and the lash and you're all set The lash? Let's not go crazy. I've been reviewing the good Doctor's post history, searching by key-word 'rum'. He has a lot to say on the topic. Based on that, I've ruled out Kraken.

Based on that, I've ruled out Kraken. I tried Kraken, but didn't like it. I prefer a golden, spiced rum. My favourite is Admiral Vernon's Old JAli was not impressed.

Socky's gigantic rum request briefly crashed the forum website.
I'm largely a rum agnostic. I like Sailor Jelly. Ali would probably have a heart attack.
Something something Captain Morgan something?

I like Sailor Jelly. Ali would probably have a heart attack. Admiral's Old J is the nearest taste to old recipe Sailor Jerry, before they changed the formula. Lots of lime and vanilla overtones. Great with a fiery Ginger Beer mixer.

It's insanity. Apart from the traditional functions of a library, surely a lot of people depend on them for internet access to use services that are getting harder and harder to access offline.

Yip. Especially with Universal Credit rollout. I hope I would feel the same if I didn't work in a library.

It makes my blood boil.
It's already started in happening in London, but it's in select boroughs that libraries are affected.
I grew up in a poorer area (Edmonton), where alot of libraries are reliant on volunteers. I now live in Battersea, cheapest council tax in London and we've got libraries coming out my fucking ears. There's a huge library and then a smaller kids only library within about 5 minutes walk of my flat. The latter is like fucking narnia.
I also work in Kensington, so see the result of Grenfell daily and have a friend who lived in it. But those fuckers get a tax rebate?
