It's amazing what people will panic over... The blokes oughta be checking it's not theirs that's dropped off...

I've been listening to the news overnight and amongst the bizarre decisions is to continue to allow passengers from Milan etc. to continue after the quarantine was leaked to the Italian press enabling thousands to flee outside Lombardy. Returning passengers are being asked to self isolate for 14 days, no other measures have been taken. But no provision has been made for safely getting those passengers and furthermore the Italian passengers, a percentage of whom are certain to be infected, who've already confirmed their unwillingness to isolate themselves. Insanely there has been no tracking of them and with some flights the passengers are debarking without any checks at all. BoJo's concerned not to create a panic.... what a fucking twat. People without coherent guidance and information will make stupid decisions. The Graun's take on this is woefully short of assistance to its readers. Just when agile, responsive and immediate measures are required, the government has taken its eye off the ball. You have to laugh at the symptom "DEATH"...

Morning All.
Back after a week off. How are we all?
Ganes blog! After battling with my PS4 for two days* I finally managed to connect and download the FF7:R demo. After playing I immediately pre-ordered (digital deluxe edition, obv). Looking very good. Also downloaded and tried Shadow of the Colossus. Seems quite good. Would recommend.
Driving! 6 hours of lessons down, 34 to go, test a week on Friday. Found I don't like driving. Who knew?! Almost like there was a reason I hadn't bothered to learn until I was 33 . . .
*PS refused to connect to the servers on my main account. Created a second account on the machine and that connected fine. I still have no idea which 'fix' worked as I tried roughly 50 different things. Morale of the story, don't leave your PS4 turned off for over a year and expect it to work when eventually turned back on.

Conchord Can you sign in to the PlayStation site with your PS4 credentials on your phone/tablet/computer/connected toaster? *Sigh* Never mind. Basic comprehension on a Monday morning. Never.

Hi. Games: Apex. More of a habit than fun now. Telly: Goliath series 2. It's a bit grim. Ottm: got tickets for the Book of Mormon in Edinburgh. At least the show is in Edinburgh, the cheap seats look like they are in East Lothian.

Hello, Good Morning and welcome. TV. More. S2 of Succession. Kieran Caulkin has some wonderfully funny laugh out loud one liners. Games. Far Cry 5. Had recruited a guy and did a couple of sides. Kinda makes it too easy on the smaller missions as they do all the work and you don't get to shoot folk in the face. Will keep for the bigger ones or if I die. scubar later on can you carry more weapons? I want a rifle and a bow. OTTM. Hadn't noticed they'd given me a black filter coffee instead of a white. Milk cools it down enough to actually drink it. Who knew? Yes, yes I'm a daft racist etc.

crankcaller , it was a very strange 'error', but not as uncommon as I expected (lots of youtube videos and forum posts on it). I could sign in fine everywhere, except the PS4. Tried everything I could find, port forwarding, rebuilding the database (whatever the fuck that is), re-downloading and updating the OS, turning all privacy options to 'no-one'. Nothing seemed to work. Then, after the ~100th reboot, it just connected and all has been fine since. Sony really are trying their hardest to push me toward XboxSex later this year, aren't they?

You can have a maximum of 4 eventually. I like to go bow, machine gun/rifle, side arm, explosions. I’m currently combining sidearm and explosions with a grenade launcher. It’s the best.

Morning all.
Gamesblog - DQB2, and I've delved too deep... I say that, but I needed to to achieve the "build a room very deep" tablet award. It's pretty fancy down there too.
TVblog - penultimate episode of Altered Carbon.
Amigablog - after finishing the Bitmap Brothers book, I had a need to play one of their games. And so went through the first few levels of The Chaos Engine. That is one truly excellent game.
OTTM - one of my wiper blades needs replacing. I went to Halfords yesterday to buy replacements for both of them (might as well). Upon arriving home, I discovered that one of the car's blades is much smaller than the other. Frustrating.

Wiper chat - did you not check the car first? I plugged the code into Halfords' iPad thing, and it didn't say anything about different sizes. I'm placing blame on them.

Unless you are that mechanic one out of Thundercats, you pay the Halford's guys a fiver to do the work for you. Basic.

I always buy a Haynes manual for any car I buy. Changing wiper blades is much like making love to a beautiful woman... First measure the length of your blade(s) and then check with the flip book in Halfords..

Good morning, Last night I played some Spiderman. It is superb. I think I'm going to go for the platinum, which isn't something I usually bother with. I've got until FFVIIr comes out to get it done.
No OTTM.

Resident Evil 2 Remake. It's a great game. Buy with confidence. Especially if it is cheap.
Don't play it on hard though. It is very unforgiving of mistakes. It is also one of the few games where you can get properly stuck. I failed to pick up a weapon. Some time later I needed this weapon and some ammo, but my oldest save was after the weapon. I had to restart the B scenario.
Pillars Of Eternity Exceedingly rich. I have turned down the difficulty. There were four possible battles, none of which I could come close to winning. I think it is possible if you manage every character individually through the battles, but that turns into a hell of a slog. It doesn't help that there is too much happening on screen in battles so you can't see that easily what is and isn't working. It is only when enemies or the party start dying you can tell and by then it is to late I am in the final part so I don't feel too bad. There is also one further notch down I can go when it becomes necessary.

I still remember 20+ years ago my mate getting right to the final part of the original game and having no ammo or 'erbs whatsoever. One save file. He spent hours trying to run through to the end, before eventually conceding defeat.

I wasn't even playing on hard level. I would not have got stuck on that boss fight on hard as it is unlikely I would have got there.
Resident Evil Remake is also brilliant if you haven't played that.
I have actually platinumed that one. The first half hour of Chris on hard is properly nasty though. You pretty much have to go just to the right rooms in the right order or you'll end up out of ammo. It's only once you have the shotgun you can relax in the slightest. Even then ammo is very tight.
