99% certain we're cancelling our mini break in London next weekend, already cancelled one restaurant, the only problem was a non-refundable £200 hotel deposit but we're just going to have to swallow that. If you booked using you credit card, just tell them you've been advised to self-isolate - they are required by law to indemnify you against cancellation due to circumstances beyond your control. I'd wait until less than 7 days before the booking before calling them to claim a refund; also many debit cards indemnify you against cancellation due to circumstances beyond your control, but you'd need to check your debit card's Ts&Cs. (never done this but heard Simon Calder say this a few times. Same same travel.

Is anyone else starting to come round to the realisation that if they end up in extended lockdown with their families it's likely to result in insanity and/or murder?

I'd expect domestic violence to shoot through the roof. With little or no ability to reduce tension by getting away from people for a few hours people will snap.

"There's reportedly been a "unprecedented" spike in divorces in China as couples forced to stay in isolation realise they're not right for each other.
State-run English-language newspaper the Global Times reports marriage registration offices in Xi'an have been booked out weeks in advance since they reopened on March 1.
They had been closed for a month in an attempt to stem the spread of the COVID-19 virus, which emerged in late December.
"We started receiving some telephone appointments on March 2, and more appointments came in the next future days [sic]," an official named only as Wang told the paper.
"As a result of the epidemic, many couples have been bound with each other at home for over a month, which evoked the underlying conflicts," Wang said said. "

I played a few more games of COD last night and have started to pick up a couple of kills per match and even won a couple of Gulag matches (both with shotguns).

Shotty in the gulag is best. I like the way it shows you when matchmaking what platform they are on.
I just went out to the chest freezer in the garage to put in some braised mince from last night. Mrs C has filled it with stuff - before removing stuff that can probably get chucked or moving the things that need eaten first to the top.
Apparently I'm not allowed to be upset by any of this. I would kill and chop up Mrs C but there is no room in the freezer.

Apart for bodies chest freezers are the worst, so much better with the Fridge/Freezer, lower capacity but easier to see what's there. Of course being a 2 person house who can buy* fresh ingredients more often helps. *Up to now.

5,000 posts! Due to popular demand ( gongfarmer ) I thought I'd show you my castle and one of my favourite spots in DQB2, the spa resort. These are spoilers of sorts but gongfarmer already said he doesn't mind and amipal has already reached this stage (btw, those materials you mention that are missing to complete your blueprint only become available after you finish the story). Please bear in mind that this is still work in progress; the area around the castle is still a bit wild and woolly. I also snapped these with the in-game camera which is why my name and the controls are visible. I couldn't be bothered to recreate them. So here are two snapshots of the castle at night. Left of the main building is the chapel where my little nuns are busy praying. The clock tower on the right houses the library. And here are two pics of my spa resort. The music hall should get a roof at one point so that it's not exposed to the elements and I'm planning better landscaping around it.

👏 Congrats tenthenemy (on the 5k). A dedication to this place which is splendid. Only surpassed by the quality and intelligence of your posts. The only downside is that you speak 'our' native language better than we* do. 👏 *As in we 'English', we expect the Scots to mangle English as most of them pretend they really speak Garlic as their mother tongue! No offence, haggis bashers No sign of Nursey... just checked outside - all the occasional (30% of the houses) old fogies of visiting family members are parked up before the government tells them that they shouldn't. Ostriches...

The flip side of that is my mums pals daughter lives in Hamburg. Her Schwiegermutter prefers her German to her son's as she says it's nicer/properly spoken.

I might get DQB2, in case of enforced quarantine. If you're really unlucky, you might get enforced DQB2 in case of quarantine. Hullo. No news here. Just the JWs having their mates around for bible study and bashing out a few hymns. This is unusual, I suspect the Kingdom Hall is closed due to the dirty non-believers virus.

Wow that castle looks top banana tent. I started DQB1 but never got very far.
More CoD of Warfare - Crowning achievement was shooting someone a few metres away with a rocket launcher. Made it out of the gulag twice too. It still feels unbalanced, the other player almost always wins.

I am feeling the gulag pump. Must have a go on that later.
Now tv is pretty good. Half of Avenue 5, some of the Trip and some of Veep s4 consumed last need. Need to slow down or there will be nothing left for my deathbed.

Went for short walk to Lidl as Pref. Mam. has been inside for 9 days with a cough, now better, and obvs there wasn't any loo rolls, pasta or flour*.
Looked at receipt only food we got were veg, milk and some peppered mackerel, did manage to buy Pinot Noir, Rosé Rioja, peanut brittle, Tunnocks caramel wafers, custard creams and a large milky bar.
Still haven't got a handle on panic buying.
*Are people baking now?
<edit>I suppose they could be making Pasta.
