Hello I managed to figure out how to get a game to work on my computer yesterday, so I started playing Warhammer Mark Of Chaos. There’d been some compatibility issues and it wouldn’t load, so did some tweaking. Yes, that’s what lockdown has brought me to, playing years old games. It's called a backlog Scubar, we all have them. |

You aren't writing and compiling your own browsers? Call yourself nerds... One of the guys on my MSc course (he was one of the super smart ones) built a search engine for his dissertation. This would have been in early '99. Always wondered where he ended up. Probably done alright for himself.
Thinking back (as I had another Uni days dream last night), the course was an odd bunch of folk. As it was a conversion degree (and not a traditional MSc) the bulk were people like me, with degress in completely different areas but with hobby level computing / coding skills and knowledge and the desire to transfer, but a few outliers, people with maths degrees who could already code and design software (apparently it's a big part of degree level maths), people with PhDs in other science subjects who could also code already, and then people who were just bored and had money to burn doing a year of something they thought would be interesting.
I'm not in touch with any of them now. But am in touch with loads of people from my undergrad days, and still see a few of them socially although being spread out among the country makes regular meet ups tough.
