Is the book good? I am Jack o connell curious, though have never seen any of his books in my local outlets. It's okay. I've never read anything by him before. I've had it in my unread pile for a while. The Guardian described it as 'Blade Runner as imagined by Kafka in a dream by Fritz Lang' which is overselling it a tad.

Morning all,
This weekend I recorded the latest podcast and released it. Also booted up Rome TW, it's still fun to play though I reacquainted myself with a hate of Egyptian chariots and the civil revolt system.

Servants of the Wankh...? "The [editors] also altered the second to The Wannek and replaced 'Wankh' with 'Wannek' throughout the text. Vance was convinced to change the name after being informed of the meaning of the word 'wank' in British and Commonwealth slang." ...and infantile jokes...

Morning
I’m considering shaving completely (something I haven’t done in about 3 years) and clippering all my hair off.

After listening to that prick Johnson this morning, i think Servants of the Wankh should really be the new motto of the UK. scamander can you pull off a quick Latin translation? I'll get my heraldry guy working on the visuals.

Rug rethink
The short haired elderly badger No 1 at the back and sides, no 2 on top* It looks fine** even though I did it myself. Well I say fine. I mean for a death row haircut obviously. I was going to leave it a bit longer on top (grade 3) but I thought it looked hippyishly long. Plus I wasn't sure about the fade between 1 and 3. it looked too stark. And I wasn't 110% confident it was precisely the same height on both sides At least with this it grows out quickly enough that the difference is not noticeable after a day or two.
I am likely to stick with it very short. I much prefer it at the sides. I can do it regularly as well now I have clippers.
Four stars. Recommended
* I have had the same hairstyle since 1994 at the latest. Grade 1 or 2 at the sides, 3 or 4 on top Going to 2 on top is the biggest innovation in 2 decades. ** for a given value of fine. What I mean is it is not noticeably uneven and there are no great clumps I missed.

I went number 2 all over (you heard) once in my 20s. Two of my closest friends didn't recognise me, one of them even offering his hand in introduction in the pub. The general consensus was that I looked like a criminal and/or junkie.

I've had my hair bleached by 'er indoors. Blonde hair on a balding man in his 40s, it's a strong* look.
*wrong.

Well a proper suedehead or buzz cut does look suspiciously criminal. Either that or you have been pressganged into the navy or joined the practical side a far right group or had a psychotic break . That's why I maintain it shorter at the sides in general. Just enough to be visible.
Though dyed blond receding hair screams sex offender
My friends generally recognise me still. In fact when I was caught on camera at a local derby (we had just gone 2-1down at VP with greaser scoring. Sky were kind enough to discuss how disappointed the Blues fans looked while focussing on me) I received hundreds of kind messages immediately. And some photos. I didn't know exactly what had happened until I got home. The footage was worse than I had feared.

Morning all.
Back to work today. As in "plugged the laptop in and poked the keys a bit. Annoyingly, I have a couple of telecons to attended today, meaning I actually have to sort of be bothered. Oof.
Gamesblog: more Amiga games. Do not try the Amiga version of Die Hard 2. Severely sub-par. Just awful. I eventually spent quite a bit of time on Breathless, a first person shooter.
TVblog: Justified.
Dinnerblog: I roasted a fantastic pork joint. My second favourite roast that is, and with lashings of home-made apple sauce. Boodiful.

I was refering to the early 90s game where Barnet and Cambridge were amazing (think the developers put themselves in as players).

Perhaps a better motto would be Ave Mentula Magna, morituri te salutantNo offence to the Duke of Bedford, who had Joan of Arc burnt at the stake, his coat of arms was the only right royal bastard's I could find,

The other thing is having very short hair on a sturdily built man is a genuine icebreaker with police and stewards at football matches, particularly away games. It really encourages them to get touchy feely. This was particularly the case back in the 1990s
I'm not sure if that was because of the reputation of Blues fans or the haircut or both. Notts Popo were the nicest. I always say this. Poked me quite firmly in the stomach with a baton while pushing me up against a wall to carry out a search also gave me some kinf . I am also good friends with the ACAB at the Met. And WMP. And GMP (they refused to let leave a fight between my people and evil Man City fans*) There is nothing like the loving touch of a copper's truncheon when you are stuck in a crowd and can't move out of the way.
And SYMM obviously. Everyone loves them though. The highlight with them was probably the game at Rotherham where they were armed. Two police officers, one with an automatic rifle, the other with a sub machine gun concentrates the mind, particularly in South Yorkshire.

So after the two sunny weekends why is lockdown still on? It seems like a lot of people around have given up on it already. Will be interesting to see the numbers in two weeks. Also have they given up on massaging the death numbers trying to look better than others in Europe?

So after the two sunny weekends why is lockdown still on? It seems like a lot of people around have given up on it already. Will be interesting to see the numbers in two weeks. Also have they given up on massaging the death numbers trying to look better than others in Europe? Well when they lifted the lockdown slightly in Singapore there was an immediate spike in cases. It has also happened in one or two other places as well. I think it is very difficult. There is a disconnect between the lived experience and the statistical experience. It is probably better to be clear. Until there is a working vaccine there are likely to be significant social distancing measures in place. Even when the lockdown is eased. This means no large gatherings. I expect our lockdown to last at least 6 more weeks - possibly with easing. It won't then be back to normal. I'd also not be at all surprised if measures are reimposed.
