I started on Windows 3.1 and must be the only person in the world who didn't have a problem with either Vista or 10 and also never had a crush on 7.

Morning all.
Played Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order last night. It runs on my creaking laptop! Couple of slowdowns in places, so might have to see into this “secret lower settings” thing I found. No other games.

Morning all,
Gaming. Beat Medusa on AC Odyssey. Helluva fight, tried sniping her with the bow but the problem is you only get a couple shots in at best and the stone artillery she drops is tough to dodge mid draw.
Better tactic is to keep a column between you and her. The minute her gaze attack drops close in and dodge the arty, then issue swuft justice. Daggers are good simply because more hits means more adrelanine. Took a while but glad the fight is done.

You guys are fortunate. You're happy having an OS that "drags mines" and slows your kit down. Drags mines as in Universal Crapplications, the majority of which you do not use, but get loaded every time you boot your kit. Edge is M$ spyware, Workgroups discontinued so you have to buy Microsoft Windows Server or resort to peer-to-peer connection (aka not a network... and you can't stop any of it loading ... Basically (because I don't have the time today) the user has increasingly less control and more of the machine resources co-opted slowing your kit down and removing the options that allow you to free your machine from these shackles. And I could go on... for balance Windows Defender is an excellent addition as, it provides security out of the box and stops idiots "Ooh, how did I catch that!" from infecting their PCs (unless they do something willfully stupid)... and you can have prettier stuff running.

Is total Warhammer 1 worth the ten pounds it is on Steam at the moment?

I'm an OS fanatic - AmigaOS, in case anyone didn't know...
It's old, it's horribly out of date, it doesn't support any modern mass-produced hardware, it doesn't track resources or protect memory... but I know what it is doing and why. And it doesn't need gigabytes of RAM to run.
It's fast, efficient, and above all, reactive - as soon as I click the mouse button, I know that something will happen. There's no delay.

Is total Warhammer 1 worth the ten pounds it is on Steam at the moment? If you're intending to get TW2 I'd say yes as you can then play on one huge map with all the races from both games. As to on it's own again yes even though I'm terrible at the RTS stuff.

Morning!
In case anyone's interested, my turnip price is 403 and my gates will be open until 12:00.
There are also a lot of recipes on the ground near the airport (on the way to the shops), ready to go to a good home of someone who doesn't know them. Please help yourselves.

Best operating system?
I installed a Command & Conquer Red Alert colour scheme on a Windows ME computer. That was my favourite. ME was just 98 with a red interface once I had altered it. It was ok.
For home pcs I have only had 3.1-ME-XP-7-10
At work 95-98-Vista as well.
Vista was ok.

Really we need to talk about spreadsheets. They are better than operating systems.
The operating system only tells you how to access your spreadsheet. It does not do lovely functions.
Excel is the best. The only spreadsheet really.
I have used Tasbook (or whatever it was called), Lotus 1-2-3 and others.
They were all appallingly bad.
Excel a boy could fall in love with. Particularly the classic 97-2003 versions.
I liked the Easter Egg racing game hidden in one of the versions on Line 2000

Love to tenthen. Need to be another time.
It's stats day!
Line manager: "Can I have these stats in this format I prescribed?" Me: "suppose so." Gathers stats every week.
Line manager: "they're too hard to read. I want them like that for the weekly report but like this instead for keepsies. And all the ones going back 14 weeks"
*Sigh*
