To be fair I am sure there are murders, suicides, deaths and other unexplained disappearances in US National Parks on a regular basis.
As I understand it he was claiming some sort of grand conspiracy, but there is no statistical evidence to support the idea an unexpectedly large number of people disappear in National Parks compared to elsewhere.
There will always be a few mysteries where people just disappear without trace. If you look you can usually get a pretty good idea of what is most likely to have happened.
Alien abduction or whatever he is claiming is usually pretty low on the list.

In some of the cases it did seem bizarre with no obvious explanation (e.g. did a runner, attacked by an animal). The first chap was a good example, out on a hunt with a group, takes a position near to the others and vanishes in a short time. He's 80 so can hardly dash off. Subsequent search was comprehensive. Added to this the FBI turn up and start asking questions (FBI don't tend to investigate these sorts of cases). He doesn't push any particular agenda but the expected suggestions pop up near the end. Imagine there are some reasonable explanations, perhaps when more evidence tutns up. I'm a sucjer generally, even more so for that sort of thing. In other news I'm downloading Fallout 4 with the DLC I never played. Time to read up on SPECIAL. I know I am.. |
