Morning Everyone!
Games: a Fortnite Duos win. Sheeps was still alive at the end, remarkably, but basically just hid as I took out multiple enemies.*
OTTM: It's pleasantly cool here at the moment, though a little damp.

Morning all.
I watched a YouTube documentary on how the RAF set up a squadron to drop the atomic bombs on Japan.
Basically, the developed bombs were too big for the B29 Superfortress to carry, mainly because the B29 had two bomb-bays separated by the wing spar. This required intense modification of the design, and there was no guarantee that it would be successful.
However, the RAF's Lancaster had one very long bomb-bay which was already battle-proven with the massive Tall Boy bunker-busting bombs.
In the end, the Americans wanting a Yank aeroplane dropping a Yank bomb (everyone has completely forgotten that the project only worked because most of the work had already been done by a British-Canadian team - we just lacked the industrial capacity at the time). Though their bomb-bay release didn't work well, so they ended up using the ones from the adapted Lancasters.
TVblog - nothing.
Gamesblog: all the Skyrim. Gradually improving my gear through a combination of enchanting "gloves of alchemy", then making a "fortify enchantment" potion - rinse and repeat.
Forged the Gauldur amulet, so that's another quest done.

Book blog: just finished a slim volume about first world war poets. Brexit, Covid, Trump, recession, and now right at the end of the book I find out poor old Edward Thomas has died at the Battle of Arras.

I introduced faceless junior to Mario Odyssey, so I've spent most of the morning dealing with his temper tantrums and tears of frustration.

Wee bit of Tomb Raider last night and we watched 'Beyond the Candelabra' - mainly for Rob Lowe's face which is hilarious.

Played some Fall Guys last night, it's fun but I am shit. Got to two finals but not won yet.
OTTM, been waiting for it to stop raining so I can watch some cricket. Still no play today. Sigh.

I actually killed the last 2 enemies. Despite being technically dead at the time of the final kill. I thought Shenguin must have got the winning shot in as I was collapsing. But the game awarded me a medal for a posthumous kill. I must have shot the second placed person dead as he killed me. This was the only point I died so I know I won the game. I recovered enough to attend the medal ceremony. |
