At least 98 villagers are killed by the GIA in the Rais massacre, Algeria. Netflix is founded by Marc Randolph and Reed Hasting in Scotts Valley, California as an online DVD rental business Strange Choice... Interesting, I've just watched Doomsday (2008) with Rhona Mitra and Bob Hoskins on Netflix. The Wikipedia listing on it is enough to make you believe in fate. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doomsday_(2008_film)#Casten.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_epidemics2009 was the swine flu epidemic. From Jan 2009 to Aug 2010, the film was released March 2008. Happy Halloween.

Ok i've gone for 29 August 1997. The period of national euphoria after we all spent a week listening to Be Here Now?

August 29th 1997: I spent much of the day playing ISS Pro on PS1. I did at one point walk round to my mates house, but he wasn't in. I also watched Terminator 2, obvs.

Aug 29 1997. As I was going to hear Derrick Carter on the Renfrew Ferry that weekend I was no doubt getting "sorted"
I possibly had a long lie as I was only working part time in the evening. I probably played some playstation 1 games. Happy days.

My Mum always said that I looked like John Mills traipsing through the desert when I came home from work. Hard not to read this in a Norman Bates voice.

OK already - Aug 29 1997.
I was in Bangalore working like crazy to ensure I could get home in time for my wedding to the second Mrs Chumbles. I didn't sleep much as I had to ring home to make reports and to keep the wife-to-be from losing it in the middle of the night*; during the 12-14h day I was trying to get our Indian partners to actually do some fucking work and not have goddam 1h meetings over every wretched phrase. They spent a lot of time telling me how wonderful they were.
*Phonecalls from the hotel were £350; I told them when they dropped the visit into my schedule 10 days before the nuptials that I would only do so on condition that I could ring home. Didn't stop them trying to deduct the calls when I got home.

Morning all!
Gamesblog: nah.
TVblog: some Tony Robinson train-thing on Channel 5. He was travelling from Norway and down through the rest of Scandinavia. Was interesting.
Filmblog: new Borat. Entertaining. Probably not as shocking nor funny as the first, but still bringing out some horrid viewpoints of the Yanks. 4*
Amigablog: I bought a NEW game. Well, 2016. Reshoot, an endless horizontal shooter. Impressive, but perhaps a tad simple.
OTTM: cracked open my bottle of 20 year-old Puerto Rican rum, which is delicious. Quite sweet. As a snack on the side, I fetched the papadums from Friday’s Indian takeaway. They were all soft, despite being kept in an airtight container. Bad show.

I know I badger amipal a lot about his future car choices, but I think I've found a winner.

Morning fellow chads!
All this time travelling has me feeling sleepy, but fortunately even though I slept in late it’s only 10am. Top banana.
Games - dragon quest xi. Absolute top shelf material. After coming second in the sand national I’m now off to smash up the sand terror or something.
Other things may matter

* Professional racing driver Derek Bell extra. That is quite lovely, even if Greta would be seething at the sight of it. No, Mr T. My next car will be an EV. I am like the arrow that springs from the bow: no hesitation, no doubt. My path is clear.

MrTiddles You're nuts. My brother had a Ferrari F355 which he gave me a ride in. It's a beautiful car, but it required immense concentration; you can't take your eyes off the road and in the wet on a bend it's really twitchy. Bro was a very good driver (did rallying in his replica Chesil Speedster), but he had bought the Ferrari as a symbol of his success. He had a Range Rover for normal driving because he found that he was exhausted after an hour or so driving the F355. Eventually he had to sell the F355, because jealous shits would key it - the repairs each time went into 5 figures. After the third the insurance company refused to insure him any more.

Vat of minestrone made this morning. Added some chorizo I had in the fridge. Nonna's everywhere would be weeping at such an aberration but it adds to the flavour.
Just had one of the meringue ghosts the PM's mum made end of the week. Still chewy and great with a coffee.

Morning!
Spring forward, fall* back. Not my words, the words of Top Gear magazine.
The extra hour was welcome. The kids stayed up late to watch the billie eilish live stream we bought them for getting good half term reports. 30 bucks for that though, sheesh. (calm down grandad with your shit taste in music and bald slap head).
Making burgers for later.
OTTM, whatever anyone thinks of him, SBCs tweet to the Donald was excellent. A put down of put downs.
Jims, tried to beat The Crystal Sage, nearly had him on about my 7th try so definitely do-able. Hopefully tonight.
*apologies to Amipal

Not certain what I was doing, but there's a pretty good chance I was watching Predator. Its an almost certainty.
Minecrafting away still. Currently linking three villages together via rail. Because I just can't get the impetus to do anything properly productive.
Oh and I'll probably watch the F1 later. Its difficult to get excited about Hamilton winning again. I wish he'd just fuck off now.

Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton - the greatest racing driver ever. I wonder whether our BoJo will yet again avoid putting him up for a knighthood* ... He gets a Bart from me, whatever *I believe if he'd been white he would've been dubbed "Sir Lewis" when he won his fifth World Championships.
