Morning all. As posted in yesterday's box, last night I watched Tumbbad, a 2018 Hindi horror film based on Indian mythology. It's on Amazon Prime Video so if Jeff already has your coin I recommend it. And yes, Ozymandias Kane , it has English subtitles, you fucking moron. That's more like it Destry.

I came away from last night’s competition with a brace of 17s. Just can’t breach that 18+ barrier this season. Still, I did alright compared to some - one woman walked away with a 13 and a 12. Ouch! Prince Andrew?

Morning! NP Blog: Day 21 (hour 515 of constant low level anxiety). I have lost all but one of my allies in a relentless war against the Eastern Scum but due to the high quality munitions I use in my Diplomacy Cannons I have managed to avoid being made a target of by other surrounding teams so far, however my trading situation will soon mark me out as I fall behind. I need to secure myself a legit membership of one of these other alliances, the mid-game is well underway and its trade or die time. I currently sit in 3rd place on the leaderboard which is probably not a great way to look harmless and friendly. OTTM I ordered a sweet new seat for my electric bike, its a NOS seat made by NISA in the 80's for old mopeds, the seat flips up and it has big storage where I plan to house a second battery, prob 52V 30Amh to give me an overall 50mile range at full power. Also watched a bit of 'The long way up' They certainly dont know much about electric bikes, running out of batteries should only ever happen once, seems to happen every episode for them. The two week circuit breaker in Scotland seems to be lasting a very long time.

MrTiddlesTo be fair to Kane you have to switch the subtitles on. I was 2 or 3 minutes in before realising I don't speak Hindi.

tenthenemy - sad to hear that, but the check up part of it is good, because they will hopefully do a scan on her hip, besides the full blood work. If you can ferret out the ward's direct line they will normally give you a few minutes, but no longer... you probably know the drill. Let's hope it's not mixed wards!

Custodes Canes Venit
Obviously not to the offie, but to my flat. Apparently today not being in was not a problem.
It has an AC/ Deus Ex feel to it. i need to work this p.m. though. I told a client potential truths that need to become actual truths at some point. Gutting

No one has the required gravitas to pull that off.

Well not so much gravitas, more marigolds and no sense of decency.

So apparently I don't have high blood pressure. I don't think the cholesterol and blood sugar tests will be so kind. Results In a few days.
Until then... All the Pringles and Coke™ for lunch.
School run. Beers chilling. Some narcos to kill and more mindhunter later.

Sorry if I'm rather down. No point in doing a mega-rant about the NHS, but my godson's operation to correct his chronic scoliosis (amongst his many other problems) has gone very badly wrong. He had a scan and the consultant came in to see him and his Dad 30 minutes after.
The complicated whole spine brace which was fitted in a 12h operation has got a bit that's come loose; my friend - his dad - is pretty certain that someone didn't tighten a part of the brace. He showed me a picture on his tablet you can see the gap. The poor boy is severely disabled already, but if not corrected he will lose all control over his bodily functions below the waist. He should be called in for an emergency operation within the next 24h.
And if any place should be able to get this operation right, it's the National Spinal Injuries Centre (NSIC). It is the oldest, and one of the largest spinal injuries centres in the world and certainly the best in Europe, so for once I'm hopeful.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Yes, it's difficult to be so far away, fortunately my brother is a bit nearer, although it's still a 3 hour train ride for him. He's going to let me know whether he had any luck getting info from the hospital over the phone, although there's also a good chance that they might just send my mum home at one point.
She's had very limited mobility and pain for some time, and about two years ago on a visit I managed to get her a referral for an X-ray in the hospital that showed that on one side her hip joint is so worn down that it practically no longer exists. The problem is that she didn't really accept this diagnosis. At her age the recovery process after a hip replacement can indeed be very difficult, so doctors have left the decision up to her. But she's constantly moaning about her lack of mobility which she ascribes to things like "lack of sleep". It's a good thing she hasn't got access to internet, otherwise she would have joined every single conspiracy theory out there and advocated the burning of 5G masts.
Earlier we had a visit from the Pref.Mam.'s nurse who took some blood and gave him his flu jab, so that's one less worry.
Builders are doing their thing outside after finding space for a skip at the neighbours' because on our side there's a tree in the way as well as our car which hasn't been moved since March. Naturally the battery is flat as a pancake.
My Pikmin 3 pack has arrived and the coffee cup is very nice. One needed to unscrew the lid to get to the instructions that tell you how to unscrew the lid.
The postman also brought a little Halloween parcel from my sister-in-law that contained a homemade card, a ziplock bag with pumpkinhead-shaped biscuits and a lot of little chocolates like mini Curly Wurly and Freddos. She's the best.
