Was the vegan yeast spread in an orange plastic wrapper in a sausage shape? I used to really like that one, but can't get it now I live outside of the economically developed world. I had a vegan sausage sandwich for lunch. Little Willies, made by the Vegetarian Butcher. The vegetarian Butcher stuff are the most satisfying meat-free sausages and burgers I have tried. I suppose the sausages weren't very vegan after I had fried them in butter, and put them between two slices of buttered bread. It was in a tube, like Primula. Sort of beige-pink. Tastes a bit like chicken paste. It was Suma (the brand). It was quite similar to Tartex.
Beyond Burgers are pretty convincing. Noisomely meaty.

I bought a bottle of Scotch whisky. I've used Burns Night as an excuse to circumvent my self-imposed ban on buying alcohol in the week.

It’s drinking it that’s the issue. I think you've gone badly wrong here. Drinking in the week is fine. If you don't want to purchase alcohol during the week, then you need to plan ahead well. I cannot forbid week drinking to myself. Sometimes the tremulous hand reaches out for a bottle. But I'm more likely to do it if I'm buying it in the week too, just because then I have to hand the delicious booze I actually want to taste.
Not buying it in the week forces you to ask questions like 'Is this beaker of violet liqueur what I really want / need right now?'

It could be because strips last week and this week were a story about a coup at the Whitehouse, which he wrote some time ago, but they got pulled and replaced because it would have been read as a response to subsequent events.

Is there a difference between purchasing alcohol from a shop in the week and getting it delivered?
As it's a pandemic doesn't it mean the rules don't count so breakfast/day/weekday drinking is now acceptable (delete as appropriate).
