Well, it's hard to argue with the Daily Fail, given the majority of the 'boxes denizens. That's why we have Tenthen, to keep us in order...

Good morning.
I overslept and missed the 7:30 meeting this morning. I feel better for it.

4 hour zoom meeting everyday this week so took the rest of the time off. Was on these last year people started wearing facemasks as covid had started spreading, a year without the pub has meant strange socialising when possible. Was there a point to Boris last night?

Morning all!
No work meetings for me this week at all because I’ve got the week off. I may have mentioned it? I do, however, have three Zoom socials to attend for a couple of birthdays.
Gamesblog: my PS4 still works! Watched the opening cinematic for CoD WaW, then we watched a film. Oh, and I got a good half an hour of the start of Just Cause 3.
TVblog: Superstore.
Filmblog: The Dig. Truly brilliant. Some fine acting by all involved, and I appreciated the local accents tremendously. 4*

Hello
I watched an episode of Superstore on ITV2. I found it distinctly underwhelming.

I thought Boris did ok last night. The press are continually banging the "give us a definitive date" question and he wasn't biting. Should have maintained that stance from the beginning.
In the meantime the same media are giving any backbench nutjob their 15 minutes of fame if they are disagreeing with the govt. They aren't necessarily interested in the point being made, it's just to mine any controversy.
Part of the issue here is that the press have been treating this like they would a novelty story. Continually misinterpreting or misrepresenting what's being said so they can eek out a false picture. They then feign outrage when this isn't met.

I’m finally picking up my replacement glasses - I lost my main pair back just before Christmas- Boots refused to email me a prescription and wanted me to come into their Covid trap of a store, and then their letter got held up by the postal issues.
I should be able to see well enough to be able post more rubbish on this site then I’ve managed in the last month.

I cancelled my contact lens' subscription with Boots because they insisted I had to go in store for a check up. Madness. I just get my lenses online now.

As the number of cases reduces, the press will move away from gleefully reporting the doom and misery, and start to increase the scaremongering instead. The G yesterday had an article about a worrying new covid strain that 'may' be resistant to the existing Vaccines, that didn't seem to be reported anywhere else, along with an article about "THE NEXT PANDEMIC WILL BE EVEN WORSE THAN COVID: ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE"

Its true. Only a few weeks into the lockdown last year the news was all 'What's the government plan for coming out of lockdown?', 'When are we coming out of lockdown?' Then after a while it's 'Why did we come out of lockdown?'
I want to stay in lockdown forever.

If we stay in lockdown forever, though, how will we be able to support Big Gav and the lads in crushing the woke hordes?

Then after a while it's 'Why did we come out of lockdown?' I want to stay in lockdown forever. It then turns into the press savaging any date given and going into full meltdown. I'm no fan of the govt but they can't win. What this has shown us is that our press is just awful.

GamesI played Player Unknown's Battlegrounds. Good game. Good games ... I found a microlite, but it had no fuel...
I saw a man running into the farmhouse where my friend was, from a distance. It was horrible. He was like a spider. He killed my friend, but then I arrived and was able to take him to town - to take him downtown, with my 12 gauge double-barrel shotgun. A powerful game. Later I killed a man by driving into him as he stood next to a building. Again and again and again. It's almost too powerful ... In another game we got a car, and - in the distance - saw another car, which began to drive towards us. I got the red mist. I felt I was like 'Max', at the start of Mad Max, when he plays a game of chicken with the self-styled 'Night Rider'. The physics of PUBG aren't up to head-on collision. The cars kind of got stuck together. Then the other driver got out and executed us both. It was good while it lasted ...

Hello.
Games. Wee bit of Minecraft with the child. "I'll just fill in this hole of lava so no one falls in shall I?". Immediately falls in with all the stuff I'd just grabbed. Four stars.
A mooch on GTA.
TV. Series 4 of the Crown. Forget all the warnings about "oh this is fiction..." There should be a warning about making Thatcher seem human in the first couple of episodes.
PS5's on Amazon this morning. Of course nobody got one and the site shat the bed. Of course. If only Amazon had a large infrastructure of web server instances they could spread the load over and then close them down when not required. Oh.

AMR has been going for years, it's fun to follow the migration of specific strains spread across the world knowing it can't be stopped. Didn't the papers do a bit on super gonorrhoea the other year? Also raw organic dog food is great for getting bugs resistant to every antibiotic. Nothing bad ever came from zoonotic diseases in the last year and a bit right? Games, run out of money in jurrasic park so all the Dino's escaped, then the guests sue. Ooof.
