scubar is correct. You can open mail in someone elses name if there is no malicious intent involved. Example: Father dies etc...

Why open someone else's post? That's something I don't understand. That's something I'll never understand. I’d rather not have debt collection agencies turn up at my house for no reason if I can help it.

If you open someone's post then you're legally taking responsibility for it. That's what I heard. If the bailiffs even get a sniff of this they'll be in your windows, through your door - taking away your TV etc.

It is illegal to open another persons mail if you don't have a reasonable reason to do it.

I get a Christmas card every year addressed to someone who lived in my house 3 owners ago. I have no idea where they live but I always open the card in case there is a sender's address mentioned. Then it goes in the recycling bin (which as you know is collected evety 4th Tuesday).

Amipal Is there a reliable Amiga emulator? I want to play Football Masters, but it all seems a bit convoluted. cheers
You can basically click on any Amiga game and start playing it, albeit at standard A500 load-speeds. Unfortunately, Football Masters doesn't seem to want to run (looks like a font issue with AROS - a non-official AmigaOS release, but free).

I’ve managed to play Space Hulk. But I think the online emulator doesn’t quite tightly sync the different parts of the chipset properly, as the music is all over the place. So should work for slower games, but nothing too actiony.

Really windy out there.
I just bought a new CD writer for re-burning all my CDs since you lot made me aware there is a better quality recording quality you can choose in the settings. Will take bloody weeks to do them all.

The portable drive I used was very fiddly last time. Also, what software are you going to use?

My understanding is also that bailiffs can't take anything from you just because a previous resident or your property has / had a debt. So it's ok to ignore any letters that aren't addressed to you. Obviously ... if the letter is for a relative who has died then you will probably need / want to open it ... Someone did once tell me that, by opening a letter, you were legally taking responsibility for it. I can't even remember who told me this. It does sound bogus. At the very least though, you're taking psychological responsibility for it if you do open it - getting tied up in someone else's business, to some extent ... To be clear ... I am not trying to bust anyone's chops for opening letters ...

I went with this mainly because it stressed "desktop" in the description and claims to work with W10 (although some reviewers could not get it to work, others could). I am just going to use Windows Media player as I'm familiar with it and hold it all on my C Drive with a backup on USB. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07JGWBLVH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also use MP3 Tag if i need to update tags on an album Both are free. I'd stick well clear of library management software unless you both know what you are doing and enjoy having everything fucked up

RollingEscargotYou can still get all your music back from Google. If you, err Google "Google Takeout" you can grab all your music and download it. It comes down as a pile of zip files and unzips into a folder called 'tracks' with all the files. They're not split into folders as you'd expect but you can either point a music player at the folder it sorts it out for you. Or with some freeware you can sort the files into folders using the MP3 metadata.

Two months after I moved into this property, a letter arrived. I opened it by mistake as the previous inmate had the same first name as me. It was a demand from an online clothing company. A week later, a Court Bailiff arrived for unpaid Court fines. All sorted out, no fuss.

Amipal Is there a reliable Amiga emulator? I want to play Football Masters, but it all seems a bit convoluted. cheers As an alternative, give Games Nostalgia a go: gamesnostalgia.com/whdownload/fThis downloads everything you need to play a given game. :edit - I’ve been informed to skip the WHDload side of things, and to just download the game.
