The continuing saga of Eryk Gingernuts.
I have messed it up good and proper. Thinking i needed a strategy for tackling the 2nd boss, the plan was to scout out the area and build a nearby camp, with a portal back to 'home', with the idea that if i end up taking a walloping I can run away and hide/teleport out of the area as a last resort.
So, with the boss half a world away i crafted a boat, loaded it with enough goodies to set up a new camp and set sail into the unknown.
All went to plan, and for a day and night i skirted the coasts til approaching the area of the boss i see on the shore a cluster of dwellings in a bit of meadow. A-ha! perfect place to set up a temporary camp thinks I, so carefully beach the boat, and sneak in for a looksie. All is quiet.
Into the first building....
Now i've never met any Draughr in this game.... and there were 2 of the behind the door. Boom! I am dead before i've time to even raise my shield. Bollocks.
So, I respawn back at base, naked, and with my boat and all my goodies half a world away.
Cursing my stupidity for wandering into a Draughr camp, i craft a raft, and grab what spare rags and clothes i can find, and set off. The plan is to reach the same place, and try and sneak in and find my corpse/goodies, and sneak out again.
Takes 2 days to get there by raft, and as i head in to shore something small buzzes towards me. Now i've never met a Deathsquito in this game, and being on a raft in the ocean is about the worst place to be. Boom! One-shotted me before i can get a hit on it.
Respawn at base again. Naked, and with all my spare gear floating in the ocean somewhere.
At about this point I wonder if i've completely fucked things up.....

Morning all.
Had some bad news today: one of the chaps in my Indian Offshore team passed away last night from coronavirus. He was in his thirties, had a wife, two kids.
Truly tragic.
He was a lovely guy. Came over to the UK a few years back for some training, and ended up coming to our Christmas do that year.
Ach. Not good. Not good at all.

3 Duos games 3rd 2nd 2nd. Bit disappointing
3 solo games 1st 1st 1st.
At that point I had to go to bed. Also I was left wondering whether I'd be better playing as a lone sheep in Duos. Who knows? Certainly not Shenguin.

That's horrible, amipal. Just yesterday I read an article about how the recent Kumbh Mela festival most likely became a super-super spreader event. I had seen the pictures and already thought that this wouldn't end well. Religious leaders (the ones who are still alive after the event) who had insisted that practically no precautions were taken were just pointing the finger at politicians and their rallies. And vice versa. A complete shit show. |

I once went to India on holiday. This was a long time ago - a long long time - but it's hard to imagine effective social distancing taking place.
When I was there I went for a walk and had to void my bowels in a thicket of mountain shrub. Even in the Himalayas there was no privacy, no respite.
