I think it's spelled 'Scotchman' actually. Like the train.

I do not think they let us off school for big matches in the olden days. I have a vague memory that we might have been allowed to watch half of the World Cup playoff game vs Australia c 1986, but I had to skive off to watch Scotland vs Costa Rica in 1990. Later I regretted not staying in school that day to learn something useful, such as how to say 'for fuck's sake McInally!' in French. I never skived school to watch a football game. I think that is disgusting I did have a day off ill* in Sixth form to queue for tickets to the Leyland Daf final. They did not turn up and we** went to Tranmere and bought them from them. Of the 20,000 tickets Tramere sold about 8,000of them went to Blues fans. To be fair Tranmere already had a play off final booked for the following weekend. We did win so it was all worth it. * My dad phoned the school to cover for me ** My mum came as well. She was furious at the idea we might skive a day while she was working. Shenguin was not best pleased that evening. He'd had to go to school while we all had a nice day off.

I want Scotland to do well.
Ideally there will be a Scotland England final, with an hour long penalty shoot-out at the end.

These days my work ethic is so poor that I will barely even get a frisson of excitement from stopping work early to watch the game.

I'm not just saying I want Scotland to do well because I want to be accepted in Scotland when it leaves the UK and becomes a socialist utopia (an EU-topia). In truth I feel conflicted about supporting England ... I mean I do support England because it's the only team I feel I can truly, justifiably, support because I was born in England (I support Liverpool but was born in the boondocks of the Midlands), but English nationalism is ... not for me, and when I see England supporters on TV I feel like maybe I don't want to be one of them. And I don't like that Three Lions song at all. But I do love World in Motion.
Conflicts, conflicts ...
I mean I wish there was a Team GB for football. I mean in the Euros and the World Cup.
A Great British success story.

And I like Andy Robertson.
A good man. A great man. A great player.
One of the best.

I reserve all my bile for club football.
I am quite happy to see Scotland, Wales, NI, ROI do ok at pretty much any sport. I am not a big patriot. I enjoy international tournaments, but England winning the trophy would mean less than a consolation goal at Preston in a 4-1 away defeat.

Hi
I'm back from my weekend away in the wilderness, boo!
But I have today booked off work, yay!
If the scotchish win today, which I hope they do, then Friday night in Londinium will be MASSIVE. Expect full Krankie v Doris political involvement. A picture of Krankie with the Tartan Army and Doris doing keepy ups on Downing Street. The cross bars at Wembley under police protection.
The first few weeks of any euros/world cup is the absolute best. 2 or 3 games every day.
The best bit though is filling in, with great care, the wall chart. Ahhh, marvellous.
No games.

hi ... Computer gamesI played Fortnite, Red Dead Online and Final Fantasy VII (the remake) this weekend. Three wins in Fortnite -I can't get over it. Three. I know some of you are very accomplished at this but ... for me it was - an achievement. Ah man. Red Dead OnlineI saw there was a Battle Royale game bundled in. I haven't found it yet. I do prefer it to the Story / full game. My horse wondered into a minor goventment offical, so one of his companions gunned me down. Fantastic. It's a shame my character re-spawned. This is the kind of realism I hanker for in a game. Final Fantasy VII seems good.

Getting out of the group would be a very decent achievement. Does going home count?

Morning! I shall be in position at the pub from 12.30. My boy is also getting to watch the game at school. I have McGinn, Robertson and Nisbet in my fantasy football team, hope they are all playing. Im not full of confidence after seeing what we had to offer against Luxembourg, but I'm willing to get drunk enough to fake it. Games: Tried Elder scrolls online, not sure if I like it. OTTM Huge shout out to Robbie Savage for reminding me about England getting put out of Euro 2016 by Iceland, I had completely forgotten about that.

Does the same thing happen when Andy Murray is playing tennis? This is bait, crankcaller, do not take it! I just find it odd that it’s allowed for one sort of sports but not another, even that it is done in the first place. But then I’ve never really got the whole “sports” thing. Football, in particular, has absolutely no draw for me. Despite me knowing all the football.

The only question I have about Andy Robertson being the Captain is that he plays at the left back. I mean I know he tears up and down the left wing but ... what if he wants to bark out some captainly words for someone playing on the right, or up at the front?
