Been looking at Copenhagen this morning. Looks great. I've never been to any of the Scandinavian countries. Lunch was smoked mackerel and beetroot couscous. Bootiful. Been to Copenhagen a couple of times. Lovey place. Good food, good beer, good people.

Apparently the Tarahumara people of Mexico run vast distances wearing very basic footwear, so I’ve been wearing very basic footwear.
I think the idea is that, without the cushioning, you are forced to run on the fronts of your feet and so absorb the impact in the arches of your feet and your calves, rather than have it transferred to your knees.
I accept the idea. I buy into it wholeheartedly.

BMI index. a fitter body means better tone in the muscles or more muscle bulk, resulting in an increase in BMI. oh dear - medic. Now, I'm no professor, but I'm pretty sure running is unlikely to increase BMI. Unless that was a very clever joke that I didn't get. Anaerobic exercise is effective in lowering your BMI, but you may find that you don't experience a drop in your weight in the short-term as an increase in muscle mass may see the scales showing the same weight even though you are actually burning body fat. (www.diabetes.co.uk) also this might help: www2.nau.edu/lrm22/lessons/body_mass_index.html

BMI = Kg weight/height squared,
I believe I need to lose weight.

Actually I’ve been running more recently on a sprung, purpose-built race-track, so it’s all very pleasant but - I did train for, and run …. a long run - a 26.2 mile run - using the … technique I read about in the book. It worked!

I'm not completely convinced by how evangelistic some of the books are about it. I expect it does work well for some people but not everyone. I have some new running shoes that have the flat foot / low drop which is supposed to encourage front-foot running, but also quite thick soles. Exactly the type of half-assed compromise I like to live by.

An ebike is much easier on the knees and ankles. And can make you look surprisingly fit.

The only big period of running I’ve ever had was when I was training for this marathon. I think I can remember getting this knee pain and switching to wearing busted out old canvas shoes. I think a part of it is that you feel more of the floor and the impact so you’re more careful with your movements. Ah - I don’t know …

Morning all!
I've been back on the hot new release Octopath Traveller, presumably a sequel to the much talked about Octopus Travelodge. Sorted out some belle end who stole a tome or something. Apparently the merchant is the best choice, and it turns out I chose the merchant as the main character. Just picked up a wizard or something.
I'm also thinking about starting Fire Emblem over as I chose to play it on Classic and at some point the babysitting of your squad at pain of having to do the entire battle over again became moribund. As far as I can tell it isn't possible to switch to casual mode halfway through so its back to basics.
Monster Hunter Sorties 2 is top banana, so likely adding that to the back lodge too.
