I do see what you are saying, most of Judo is about taking control of your opponent so I do concede the point that 'grappling' or body control is a primary function in the art. But you don't have to put the person on the ground to gain the upper hand, their own momentum does the job often enough and you can control them by using locking or knockout/strangulation techniques without them going to ground. I think that over the years the techniques that look dramatic such as throwing from a grab etc have become the general norm, this is more obvious when you watch the Olympics where the practitioners are typically taught one or two maybe three techniques which they use to compete with. It's not about fighting which is what they do, it's not about devastating your opponent which is what they do, it's about ensuring that the person who has grabbed you or attacked you is placed under control in a safe manner - for them and for you. |

We should be talking about the gate being fixed. It's almost done. A big fresh gate. There's just one more visit to complete the wood stain. Is it environmentally friendly stain? and make surer he tunes the squeak just right, nothing worse than a bad squeak. |

I don't know how enviromentally friendly the stain is, but I love this gate.
It's got a lock. No gaps. A barrier against the forces of chaos.

Took ages to get a fence sorted earlier this year, is there still the shortages of house/garden upgrading bits?
Did Mr Chumbles ever get his new pc?
Inappropriate places to use laser pens; airshows, pointing out the captain of the jumbo passing over head and at a football match.

Did Mr Chumbles ever get his new pc? ... Pictures Page 1. But the 43" 4k monitor - shown is a compromise. It's simply not as good as the 48" OLED one that I wanted, but it was impossible to fit in. I'd hopes of seeing everyone else's playing environments. I attach the spec / order.
