I find myself horrified and disgusted that the three black guys - Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho & Bukayo Saka - in the England team are now the subject of racial abuse on "Social" media.
I say horrified and disgusted, but not surprised. As if knowing that you've missed a vital penalty wasn't enough, they (and I'll bet their families too) are going to be the target of abuse by a minority of scum who masquerade as football fans. The small, violent and toxic group of thugs who coalesce around football in gangs make me ashamed to be English.
I hope you will join with me in expressing support for these guys.

Unlucky England. For a long time it looked like Italy could play all night and not score. Surprised that some of the older and more experienced players allowed Sancho and Saka to take the responsibility. Grealish? Shaw? Henderson was even subbed so he wouldn't have to take one. And congrats gongfarmer on the FF victory. I claim second on alphabetical order. |

On returning home yesterday, two cups of tea were consumed to rebalance myself somewhat. I then decided in needed a tot of rum afterwards, and sat down to watch Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. I may have dozed through some of it…
Top of the fortieth-birthday-present-pile is a flight alongside a Spitfire and Hurricane. I am tremendously excited by this.

What a dreary day. Football eh? All I can say is semi-final, final, world cup winners 2022.
I have multiple, confusing drinking injuries from over the weekend. Not becoming of someone in their 40s.
I did however come within 100 points of top place in the FF. Yippee ki yay kimosabe!

In my experience of being abused as a hideously ugly freak a part of me thinks that one of the best ways to make sure it keeps on happening is to give a reaction. The more it hits the news - the more it's touted as the worst and most hurtful thing you can do - the longer it will carry on. Maybe. Maybe ...
