Nope. I say this from experience. Best to have a drink afterwards though.

I am going to go for the W11 upgrade today, wish me luck.

No games. A couple of episodes of Succession. It's actually quite good once you start watching it like it's a drama and realise that the people who say it's funny are idiots. The Guardian giving it the full Fleabag hagiography treatment doesn't help. Ottm. The big tennis exhibition I was going to next week, which had Andy Murray, Emma Raducanu and all that, has been cancelled. Fuck you, Omicron. On the plus side, had a Chinese takeaway last night and I do enjoy collecting rice in the prawn crackers and eating it, so at least I'll always have those memories. Ah Man.. I have seen selected moments from it, and I thought it was funny. I thought moments were funny… some of the moments … I don’t like the way the camera zooms and jerks as if it’s a fly on the wall documentary. Like Battlestar Galactica used to do. Not for me. I dislike the camera jumps too. I assumed they are meant to signify a punchline, like in Brooklyn 99, but then the line is usually just someone saying something a bit sarcastic. The other thing is that some of the people (especially Greg and the guy from Ferris Bueller) act like they are in an episode of Veep and the rest act like they are in an intense drama. The tone is incoherent. But overall I like it and want to know what will happen. Tldr I like things that other people like, but not for their terrible reasons.

I remember when Opera was able to run self contained from a 3.5" floppy disc. La Boheme I think, one of the shorter ones. Boom tish. Good morning. I'm a little out of sorts. Was woken about 4 and didn't get back to sleep till nearly 6. Then woken by the child at half six and up at 8.45. TV. First episode of DopeSick. What a bunch of cunts that family are. Games. Why yes! The child wanted a run around on Minecraft on the PS5. So I sat and watched that grumbling wanting a go of the box. Had a play on Astros Playroom. Good fun. A few races in GTA and I downloaded the Division 2 overnight as the graphics are supposed to be better. Sheep is correct in that it really needs a 4k. The graphics on Astro popped on my 1080 telly - but I could see on 4k it would rock. Still finding my way round the new gui/button config. Apparently {redacted} wanted a PS5 from Santa. So the child is going to rock in on Monday and have a mic drop moment. {Redacted} can be a little cow sometimes. Genshin is nice looking on the PS5 and free to play. Its like breath of the wild but better. If you can get some male characters its ok, but I wouldn't play as some of the female characters in front of the PM or kids. There's a free beta of DNF Duel this weekend for PS5 too, made by the people who did Guilty Gear Strive, probably one of the best looking games I've seen. Also worth looking out on the PSN or shopto/simply for PS4 games with free PS5 updates going cheap. I got Borderlands 3 for about £10, and I think some of the Ubisoft ones go for pretty cheap too. This 4K TV is fantastic and we got it for £340 a while ago.. www.argos.co.uk/product/7517390 it has a gaming mode so the latency is minimal Perhaps a metaphor for... Good morning! I tried to rescue my Dark Souls 3 save from the now defunct PS4, but it seems to have been lost to time. I could swear I had a save somewhere in the Cathedral of the Dank, I even posted on here about it, but all I have is an empty one from 2017. I'm now considering going back to it and playing it all over again. Knowing From it probably runs in 240p 25fps on the PS5.

Quoth the Dakyl on March 2nd, 2020 - "Some of the dark souls 3, top banana. I made it to the cathedral of the deep by cheesing the two hard NPCs on the way, before remembering that bit is possibly optional? Or am I misremembering? Hmmm. Hmmmm. Hmmmmmmmm.". So where is my save Sony? Brexit now.

GI characters are mild and pretty inoffensive, especially for Anime chars.

I like lockdowns. Within reason. It’s nice if they keep football games on. Good if they don’t make too much new TV because then you get a bounty of films from yesteryear.
I’m broadly pro-lockdown.

W11 is alright. It seemed to have installed seamlessly and is running OK. The start menu is now bottom centre instead of bottom left and the icons are different.
Real game changer.

I've given the pub a miss. It's too foggy out and I'm too lazy. Plus I have beer in the fridge.
As they're distracted by Genshin Impact, I've hoiked the kids Xbox into my room and have just downloaded ALL the games from Gamepass. Well, not all, but Hades, Firestarter, Ori and the will of the wisps and Sable.
First up, Hades. Hurrah!

Looks like another lockdown after Christmas. Great start to 2022. I am going to go for the W11 upgrade today, wish me luck. Edit: Too late! I reckon it will be before Christmas; and to make your holiday season complete you're going to upgrade to w11? That's Ozymandias Kane levels of insanity... What are you? There's all sorts of issues that need resolution, I urge you to at least back up your entire machine in an image at the very least - and to read this before doing so and follow the links in it. Note that this guy is testing on very newest AMD and Intel graphics / main CPUs... ...and the manufacturers will have optimized Alder Lake etc. for this; CPUs that completed design pre-2019 won't have been. So, I would guess that there will be yet more issues with those... apps not running, stuff running slower than under w10. Perhaps I am wrong, but M$ persist in releasing Beta software and foisting their user testing on the punters.

People have been able to have tests? I thought they were all out of postal availability this week. Shop where the mask wearing is better or where there are fewer gaps on the shelves?

I got some before the Gov were going to start charging, out of 7 we've used 2. Mainly for if we experience symptoms or like today knowing that we'd possibly come in contact, so , me today and the Pref.Mam for when one of the people in their building reported a positive result. Though the test and trace apparently just gives you the date you might have come in contact with someone*, so the range is huge. *who also has the app and reported it. <edit>tbh I did briefly** consider not taking the test but apart from being stupid it would be massively unfair to everyone I met. **I waited 8 minutes.

Ricky Gervais interviewed in the Guardian I see. Always reminds me of the sort of cunt who says something fucking horrid or nasty to you and if you pull them up about it then it "was a joke" "can't you take a joke?"
Make some jokes about Animal Cruelty - see how funny he finds them. What's that Ricky? You're offended? Gasp.

Afternoon all.
Cor, don’t it get dark early eh?
I visited the butchers earlier, got some mince for tonight’s bolognese and a pork joint for tomorrow’s roast. I misjudged the weight for the latter, and will have no leftovers to make bulgogi later in the week.
TVblog: Seinfeld, and the new series of The Witcher.
Christmasblog: the tree has been brought indoors. Yes, we have a real Christmas tree now, one in a pot. It has been placed atop a small table and decorated. It is more lights than tree.

We've used the same plastic tree for over 20 years and I do the lights*, which include wonderful led lights which have different light timings, PM keeps saying that just having them on all the time is the best, I disagree, a slow fade to different colours is the best and as I am the only one who bothers to change them we end up with that.
*Pref.Mam. does everything else while drinking Bucks Fizz and listening to Christmas songs, which is about to start in 30 minutes.

I have always disliked Gerbil; I am astonished that he hasn't been given a good kick in the balls before. There was a kid at school like Gerbil who always had a coterie of fellow bullies, the sadists (who were quick to join in) and weak, wobbly-chinned acolytes tittering nervously in the background.* There ought to be a genius loci in schools for this purpose * The poor bastards giving the fascist little cunt their lunch money, sneaking for him so that they weren't the object of his more physical forms of 'humor'.
