As I and crankcaller can testify, this resonates... You know why the Help Desk guy asks "Is it plugged in?" It's because in big offices the cleaning staff sometimes pull the plugs out so that they can vacuum the floor and don't plug them back in and in the morning returning staff never check when the screen is blank... |

When I worked on an IT helpdesk* the people who used them every day were fine.
It was the upper management people who were dicks, IT illiterate and annoying, luckily most of them were stupid as well so missed any sarcasm.
*often about systems I'd help develop.

Im on my third day of no fags and booze, been eating healthy, smoothies or home squeezed orange juice every morning, did hot yoga last night.
Actually do feel pretty nifty, but also gantin on some beer and cigarettes to take the clean healthy edge off.
Maybe a run til the edge of cardiac arrest after work will kill the cravings.

- They are filming the next season of good omens in one of my shop streets next week.
- My bi-annual Jolly to Germany for work has been cancelled due to covid AGAIN. Pretty gutted about it. Although it had changed locations to Frankfurt instead of Berlin, so Im not sure what Im missing out on as much.
- I wish they would shut up about Bowie on radio 6, they are turning him into some kind of media hipster Princess Diana figure, just let him rest in peace. Every fucking year its the same gushing bollocks from them.
- I got a new VW Transporter Kombi, I absolutely love it so far and plan to go on an epic road trip camping in europe in the summer if they are still letting us in by then.

We had people who came around every 6 months to clean our keyboards. I got so fed up with them blowing dust around (yes, I know, I wasn't working hard enough) that I told them not to bother. They were quite happy to comply.
