amipal On last night's unpleasant topic of covid-sceptic keyboard warriors: They used to upset me, suggesting that my poor PM couldn't possibly have died of Covid (or even existed, or been murdered by his doctors... the list of BS is endless) because no-one has died of Covid and if anyone did they were old and so they don't count. Now they just make me laugh because they have somehow convinced themselves that every Covid case in hospital is someone who fell of a ladder and subsequently tested positive (I'm not making this up: someone actually told me that) and that all medical professionals and all coroners, from Milton Keynes to Osaka to Timbuktu, have been bribed by George Soros. They will claim victory whatever you tell them and they will have the last word. I read the writings and letters of people from 4,000 years ago and used to think that this showed how people back then were exactly like people today, only that some of them believed in magic and demons and nobody knew that America existed (except for the people who lived there). Now I understand that despite thousands of years of progress in technology and knowledge we are still exactly where we were back then, superstitious BS and all. The only difference is that we have to ask whether America should exist. Now excuse me, I have to decipher this ancient text. Hmm. It appears to be a list of Sumerian fish puns.
