It is chores day - my legs are complaining, but being a manfully manly man, only quiet whimpering can be heard.
On other matters, I was astonished how close 'our' girls got to the improbably high target the unsporting Aussies set in the Washes. I was so hoping that they would do it, if only to shut that entirely biased Aussie commenter

I've been listening to an Andrew Weatherall radio show from 2011 on mix cloud. It's a better year; Weatherall was alive and the 6 music news broadcast has politicians actually quitting when they do wrong. Heady times.

lazybonesHave you seen the 'summer of soul' documentary? The 5th Dimension on that, seeing themselves peform is quite nice to watch. I have not seen this. To be honest I’ve only been truly aware of the 5th Dimension as of today, when trying to identify the Up and Away song. |

Stevie Wonder, Sly Stone, Nina Simone, all the lads. The dancing from Gladys Knight backing singers (the pips) is worth it alone. So good. |

I’m watching a film called Privilege, which I got through DVD subscription service ‘Cinema Paradiso’. It’s actually a Blu-Ray…
I can’t get into this film. It stars Paul Jones from Manfred Mann (also Children BBC’s ‘Uncle Jack’). He plays a pop-star in a 1967 vision of the future, manipulated by the state to control the masses. I fell asleep for about an hour so may have missed something, but he spends most of the time moping about, looking worried.
The 60s have a lot to answer for.
