After she sat next to Liz Truss in the Commons she could be too close to you. And coughing on you. Being watched is the least of your worries. Being too close to any of them would be horrifying on so many levels... Oddly, because of jobs, I've met quite a few Tory MPs... the worst in a personal sense was Heath, whose PA told me to make sure there was a bottle of gin - he was at the event for 75 minutes and continuously drank G&Ts with only a pause for when he was talking about himself. He had a disturbing handshake - only when you looked down could you be sure it wasn't a dead fish. The nicest was Cheryl Gillan who was charming and would drop into my local when she was doing constituency duties. She was happy to chat about anything, along with her husband and in complete contrast to Heath, had no obvious sense of self importance. |
